A New Race Of Clever Info Product Thieves - How Can They Be Stopped?

Hey guys,

Ok guys, so I just read the thread about serial refunders and thought i'd share a little trick that some people have been using to get my products for free.

I will start by telling you that I use Ejunkie as a digital delivery system for all of my products. In my eyes its the best way for automating my sales, however...

Lately I have had a few people paying with an echeque, and as you may know the funds are credited to your paypal account but are set to pending because the cheques take a few days to clear.

Some freebie seekers have taken advantage of this situation, they will simply pay by echeque, which counts as a payment in the eyes of ejunkie and paypal.

So Ejunkie thinking that I have been paid will instantly deliver my download link to the customer, who then downloads my product and then simply cancels the echeque.

Is there any way to stop this from happening?

Regards,
Stephen

Your shopping cart shouldn't be giving them access until the echeck clears.

It has done though, because some of them have even been cheeky enough to send me a message saying thanks for the download link.

I've had several customers pay with an e-check and my ebook is not delivered to them until the check clears. I also use e-junkie. I'm not sure what's going on with your products.

    See this thread at E-junkie:
    Echeck Payments and Fraud?
If you go to Seller Admin>Edit Payment Preferences there is an option Wait for Pending Payment to Clear before processing. Enable this option and click Submit.
