Assistance Appreciated

Hi All,

I'm an infrequent poster who enjoys reading the forum.

I'm looking for any kind of assistance you can provide a newbie. I've tried Internet Marketing on an on again/off again basis for a few years without much success. I recently found out that there is a very strong possibility that I will be losing my job at year's end. What makes it doubly tough is I'm severely disabled and need to work from home which cuts down my job options drastically.

Anyway, my goal is to be making at least hundreds of dollars a month by the fall of 2012. I have money to invest in this, but not as much time right now as I'd like. I guess what I'm looking for is a good road map, or even just a place to start. TIA

I'm sorry to hear you may lose your job, that's a tough situation to be in.

What sort of online job/business would you like? What interests you? What sort of skills do you have?

Yep, it's tough. I'm thankful for the notice I was given though. A lot of people were just let go.

I was thinking about doing something with an affiliate or a PPC. Something that I can get up and running relatively quickly without much time to devote to it, but can make some money with it. I have work currently and assorted doctor's visits twice a week.

And I agree with funkynassau, tell some more about your previous experience etc.
It will be easier to help you out then

You seem to have good writing skills. Have you considered setting up and article or content writing service?

As the others have said, without telling us your skills and interests we can't help you. As you've dabbled in IM before you must have some ideas about which areas you like and which you dislike.

Thanks! I have written a few articles, but it's like some days the words come easy others not so much. It was a tough go for me, exhausting.

    Marty,

Definitely sorry to hear bout the lay-off, but if you pursue affiliate marketing aggressively, I sincerely believe you can make more than any job can offer you. With a little work and effort, you could meet or exceed your financial goals.

A few things to start with would be

    • Keyword Research (Google Keyword Tool FREE, Traffic Travis FREE) Market Samurai is probably the best, but cost like $149
    • Target Something You are Passionate about (medical, health, pets, etc..) <---something in HIGH demand! (Again...research!)
    • Find Quality ClickBank offers (usually paying 50% -75% commissions)
    • Get an Aweber, Get Repsponse, or iContact auto responder set-up
    • Build a simple Wordpress site with a "Video Squeeze Page" teaser...(helps build a targeted 'buyers' list and protects you from losing your AdWords account by NOT linking directly to an affiliate offer (like I did!) oops
    • To generate traffic you can write and submit articles, use PPC, or do some off-line marketing.
This is a formula that takes more time, then a financial investment, but has HUGE potential when exercised without spending thousands on non-essential items.

PS- Don't fall victim to all these "Here today...gone tomorrow" 1-click to riches BS!

PPS- Definitely don't buy something unless you intend to put it use, and take action. It's been said a million times; apply action, and many of the methods taught throughout WF will make you money. Just requires you TAKE ACTION!

PPPS- Also, beginning August 31st ClickBank is requiring more stringent guidelines for vendors, and as such I recommend reading the new rules before picking a specific product to promote...chances are, many existing products will not be there long when the new rules kick in.

Just in case it wasn't clear...NEVER attempt to 'directly link' to affiliate campaign with AdWords, without having a landing page or squeeze page in place.

I didn't know this was a rule breaker, and in my very 1st attempt to 'practice' a PPC ad, I was BANNED for life from AdWords.

    All the Best,

I'm sorry to hear about your job situation and totally relate to having a tough time finding a job when you are disabled. I, myself, have Cerebral Palsy. The quickest way I know to make money online is to be a service provider of some kind because you get paid by Paypal.

There are a number of ways you can do this: being an online broker (just learned about this), starting your own PLR store (provides residual income, can recommend a good product), being a ghostwriter (get paid by the job, can recommend a good product).

When you are a ghostwriter, you do research, write content, have to work around other people's schedules and have deadlines. You can, however, run specials to make lots of money fast or choose to just work with a few people at a time in order to meet your income needs. You have to hustle doing this since you only get paid whenever you have a job.

When you have your own Private Label Rights store, you do research and write content on a variety of topics for people that are looking for content they can modify and use as their own. You can use software to make delivery automated. You will get topic requests, get traffic from the search engines and can run PLR specials to bring in lots of money fast. This is residual money due to traffic from the search engines.

Since I am just learning about being an online broker. I can't tell you about how this works. I also had to purchase a number of WSO's before I was able to put everything together and get a good sense of the process and how to do things.

Let me know if you would like recommendations on the other products.

    Good luck,
    Joey
