Hey guys/gals,

After telling myself that I would never run a website again here I am.
I've run websites in the past that have gotten 30k hits per day but I am clueless of all the new techniques and strategies of driving traffic. Be gentle with me .

My new site is StratRisks.com, it's a risk management and news website with detailed information about what is going on from Texas to Timbutu. It is a work in progress as i started it last month.

I'll be a fixture here hoping to learn some new tricks. I stumbled on to this site by for information on a social networking submission service/software and here I am!

How on planet Earth did you run a website (I'm sorry, "WEBSITES") that pulled 30k hits per day but somehow "clueless" of "all the new techniques and strategies" of getting traffic? If I had 900,000 hits per month, I would be looking at conversions.

Or, does "running" a website not mean that you "owned" it?

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.

Correctamundo, I made money from it but I did not own it. In the past we just ran around and put articles and links up everywhere and flooded forums like crazy. Today I would rather establish some form of framework so I know exactly how it works and how easy it would be to produce results.

Currently I get around 1-2k visitors a day but I haven't done much to monetize the site besides like 3 AdSense ads. Could someone do me a huge fav and check the site out and possibly give me some tips? I'll give you my first born child Rumpelstiltskin!

I am probably the world's worst traffic generating authority so I cannot teach what I do not know. I do know, though, that seeking traffic the old fashioned way - building relationships, reaching out, even using offline methods - is the way for me. You have certainly come to the right place on the Warrior Forum if you want genuine help in building traffic or anything else related to successfully running and monetizing a website.

Appreciate the offer, but we'll let you keep your first born. Just blessed with my 3rd grandchild, and 3 little boys keep me plenty busy enough!

Given the nature of your industry, you might achieve positive results by releasing a white paper and branding the document with your corporate contact information.

Excellent, I had planned to do a few press releases as well. Thanks for the tip, if you need a baby for a quick government stipend let me know.

    Michael - Brad here

Welcome - I am very impressed with your background. With that confidence - my suspicion is it won't take long for you to get right back in the saddle and make it happen.

Your site sounds fantastic. You obviously have a mature view of the market and have targeted what many call "the" unique niche. Sounds great.

If you are looking for some system guidance - after you have some time to search - I would suggest Internet Business Mastery dot Com. Jay and Sterling have been at it for about six years. They sound in their PodCast like they would be close to you in experience and interest.

Check out their FREE PODCAST in ITunes. About every week they have an update. They have over 135 posted of which the first 50+ have been withdrawn and placed in one of their courses.

They work with some heavy hitters like Jeff Johnson and do a lot of SEO and traffic attraction work. Perhaps they will lead you to one of those programs as well.

Best of luck to you - sounds like you are well on your way to success and fun doing it too!

    Cheers !
