Multiple PIDs needed to promote products in Commission Junction?
Hey Folks,
I signed-up on CJ a few days back by making a generic site targeting a niche to get their approval and was assigned a PID (Publisher ID) for that site.
I found an advertiser (vendor) selling products in that niche and showed him the site to get his approval too to promote his products (this vendor manually approves applications). Now here's the thing:
I plan to create very small 3-5 page sites to promote his products (he has a lot of micro-niches and a range of products in each; I don't intend to monetize that generic site either).
Now should I submit all these sites to CJ to get their respective PIDs and then promote his products with their corresponding PIDs (I am talking dozens of sites)? Or just the original PID which was assigned to me while signing-up suffice for all the sites? Also, down the line, if I want to promote a product in a completely different niche, would I again need a different PID?
As I understand, the PID is embedded in the affiliate link, so I don't want any issues with tracking sales.
I could ask this from CJ or the Vendor himself, but didn't want them to feel uneasy about my marketing strategy.
