Quickpoll: Warriors, your outsourcing experiences..good or bad?

Lately, I have been hearing quite alot about bad experiences with outsource agents and outsourcing sites. Thats the purpose i started this thread for, so that everyone gets a good overview of outsourcing sites that are trustworthy. Personally, i have never had any negative encounters with my outsourcing, but i recently heard from another warrior who was scammed by some graphics designer at a certain outsource site. So come on, lets share our good or bad experiences on outsourcing shall we? I am sure everyone will benefit that way..

    I have never outsourced using one of those sites and I have been outsourcing work since 1997.

    My suggestion is to find good LOCAL people when you can using good old-fashioned classified ads. You'd be amazed how many qualified people there are right in your own backyard... And they don't have a profile on any freelancing sites.

    Out sourcing done right can really pay off however on the flip side, you can just as easily find that the money you spent was wasted.

    It all about being able to communicate effectively, as long as you can communicate you can usually get a project finished and on budget.

    It is the human condition that for every good programmer/service provider there will be 10 not so good providers, finding out which ones are good and which ones are not so good that is the key to being able to create effective projects that succeed.

    Just a few thoughts.

    I've found trustworthy people who deliver here on Warrior Forum. Although I've been burnt twice by two different people, the rest have been really great! I outsourced on RentACoder once - it was some graphics work. That went good too.

    Outsourcing really helps me to focus my attention on the things I do best while the rest of the work is completed by someone else. It's a win-win for me and overall, the experience has been good
