Mother of all Graphics Question

Hi there,

I'm new here and can you tell from my title that I'd adore a quick answer?

Is there a software program or a graphics designer that "everyone uses" (kind of like "everyone uses Aweber" [whether or not that's really true]) that creates those beautiful boxes, book covers, images of cds laid out in the "here's what you get" section of sales letters?

Also, is there an acronym or specific jargon for what these things are called?

Thanks much and have a great day!

    hi,

If you want to create your own like many do, they are commonly done using PHOTOShop and using "actions", the most commonly used action scripts are Ebook Cover Software | eCovers | Ebook Covers but you do need photoshop to use them.

There are others but many believe including me that these are the best.

If you want a designer then thats a whole different ball game, there are tons of designers who can do these, some better than others, check the WSO section for good deals or contact warrior "Karl Warren" he is a great designer loved by many warriors but on the downside I'd say he is pretty busy, but still worth a PM.

    thanks

Terrific Andy! Thanks so much for taking the time to answer.

I'm still a bit confused about all of these acronyms.

WSO? Wet, squishy only? Wild sap onboard? Wanna Sue Obama?

      Thanks again!

Oh, I forgot to mention: I may get Photoshop, but right now I have Corel Photo Paint. Wondering if there are any programs that work with that antique.

Photoshop is probably used by more people to create graphics but there are numerous alternatives (both free an paid) such as corel and gimp.

IN order to create book/cd/dvd/report covers you'll need an action script which is a series of recorded actions that you run through one of these graphics programs that builds the cover for you.

There are many action scripts available for photoshop but I', not so sure about the other programs.

There are also stand alone programs that will do this. Try googling ebook cover generator or osmething similar.

WSO stands for "warrior Special offer" its a section of this forum where other warriors offer products and services, there are always some great graphics/designs offers going on, check it out I'm sure you will find something. (check out the link Ryan gave you, that is a WSO)

There are also tons of software to create the covers/graphics you need, just do a google search for "ebook cover" and I'm confident you find what you need.

    thanks
    andy

ps, sorry forgot about Ryan (sorry), his stuff is off the chain too and according to many warriors he is very easy to work with and has great communication which in my book is an absolute must when outsourcing.
