Is it okay to delete a domain on 301 redirect?

Hello there,

I setup a site with Domain A but I didn't like the domain so within a month or two I found a domain I liked (Domain B). So, I re-branded and I put a 301 re-direct from Domain A to Domain B. It's been like that for a year now. Now Domain A is up for renewal but I don't want it. Is it okay if I dump it or should I just keep it to play it safe?

Not sure if there could a negative consequence for dumping Domain A.

    If you don't need it dump it. You don't have to renew if you don't want it.

    Nothing will be changed, as you haven't used domain A for long time, I don't think it had much traffic. right?
