    I must be missing something.

The video has nothing to do with the charity or the its messaging.

It's just a bunch of clips of some kids messing around kicking balls into a basketball hoop.

This is hardly marketing. There's no marketing at all involved in that.

You might aswell put your cat playing the piano with a charity message at the end.

Here's an example of an informative and very useful
video that more importantly markets and sells the
benefits of the product very well:

(So much so, I got some of those lights myself from
the supplier who created the very useful video).

Now, that's marketing with video to create sales.

        Shaun,

It's good to see a real expert explaining something with the 'hows' and the 'whys'.

Like you, I'm off to check out the website.

I'd have to agree -- and I'm not even sure what "How Ridiculous" means in this context.

It looks as though someone thought a messing-around video would go viral and added a dollop of cause marketing for effect. It didn't work. I lost interest at :42.

If you want to make videos, know "who" your targeted audience is, and make some kind of funny or informative video.

Marketing with videos is not "that" difficult. The main thing is figuring out what group of people you are trying to target. And then giving that group of people what they want.

That is exactly how NOT to do video marketing

All this video will ever be is a long video of some boys managing to kick a load of balls a very long way into basketball hoops.

(It's not even a very good video since it (a) isn't a very original idea (b) goes on too long (c) the more impressive shots are in the middle.)
