PLR Material...Old and Rehashed or Fresh and Unique?

Just a quick question, although I think I know what most of you will say...

Is there any good plr material that hasn't been recycled a dozen and one hundred fifty million times? And how about something recent, like produced in 2008?

Last year I bought a ton of PLR. I saw a few interesting topics, and I thought, "Maybe I could use these for something." Well, I was so wrong. I still have all that PLR stuff on a flash drive just sitting. Sure, I could slap it on a bunch of blogs and flip them for some change, but I don't like crap. I'm not going to try to put off crap on someone else! That's just wrong, IMO.

Anyhow, I've joined tons of PLR memberships, and lists, and the result is always the same. Or at least it seems that way to me. But, I get the same materials from everywhere. Am I missing something here, or do other people have this problem?

Be real with me here people. Do I just have to chock it up to a lost cause and sit down and write some myself? <-- I think this is the only solution, but correct me if I'm wrong.

there are some limited sites and direct from the author options you have to explore. large plr membership sites seem to be recirculating the same host of information and just rehashing it to their members. I would suggest either turning the plr you have into a how not to write product (which is EXACTLY what i'm doing w/ some crap stuff i've got on my site) or just chaulking it up to something learned and move forward. I know some and I am a writer who provides only the best plr - 100% original and limited quanities sold.

As you've discovered, there's a huge variation in the quality of PLR.

I've managed to find some great PLR in the WSO. So, if you're up for writing your own PLR, do it and create a WSO.

I've had the best success finding good PLR (when I just needed a few articles to kick start a new niche blog) and checked the WSO forum...

      Cheers

I am going to be really honest here and say I killed a plr site I own and have just left a 'under developement sign' up while I figure out what to do with it.

It definitely generated me regular sales ... however truth be told the plr stuff was straight from the middle ages.

So I have been giving it some thought and read your post with interest.

If anyone has a whole package of fresh and in demand PLR products that are not currently being sold anywhere then please send me a pm.

There are some excellent writers with WSOs that will write original content for you. Several are running their offers right now on the WSO forum.

If you have a PLR site, why not hire a writer to create fresh content for you on a regular basis?

That way you know it isn't rehashed stuff and it is completely unique. It would be a huge selling point, IMHO.

You get fresh, unique content and can provide a quality product.

I think fresh content is a better way to go .. Fresh Articles, Fresh Blog Post and etc... I would not waste my money on no PLR membership site. I can not speak for all those sites, some are bad and some are good..

Some do make limits and some just dont care if they sell it a million times. When I create an article Pack I do infact limit it and I do not use the articles myself at all..

    * By Fresh I mean original, not used anyplace else, was written by my own hands.

Not since cavemen started writing on the walls in their caves, carving information into stone, etc, has there ever been anything written that wasn't 're-hashed' in some way.

It's good to use PLR material as an outline, or a way to give you ideas on the article you want to write.

    However,

Trying to re-hash a plr article, changing at least 30% of it, is a time consuming task.

I think in the long run (if, of course, you like writing) you will find you are better off to simply write your own articles, which will be of greater unique value.

Jared, that's exactly why my PLR reports are not complete in that they come with no book titles, no chapter names, but they are well researched and written and only sold with source codes by ourselves.

Very cool Bev, now that's how PLR material should be. 'Fill In The Blanks' style... I love it.

bev has it right, and you can certainly get any writer to produce that kind of plr for you. you have to find some one reliable for regular work that will provide that kind of quality.

Think of old PLR as research material, read a bunch of it and then add your own twist and fresh ideas to it. Most of the PLR I've seen (not from Bev or WSO's ) was written by fifth graders in the dark ages.

But it can help you get ideas for your own stuff if you use it for that.

If you are a writer, you might be farther ahead just writing your own material - if you have time. If not, rather than joining $10 member sites, use the money to pay a writer to produce original content for you.

Old PLR can be quite useful, especially if you know the subject. Some subjects I write about often start from PLR. They give me the ideas and an angle, and the rest comes right out of my head.

You're better off checking the PLR seller to find out where the material came from and if it was produced specifically for that merchant.

I write my own packages because I have relatively high standards. Anything I've seen is often inferior, poorly written and not worth the money. It can take way too much time fixing when I could be writing from scratch.

The problem will always be how to find an article supplier you can trust.

And all my PLR are listed as samples at my writing site for anyone to download. They are not complete but gives people ideas about the content.

All of ours have been written in-house by the same writers who have written for gurus and other people.

There are a lot of us here who offer PLR, without the membership. And we are constantly writing new, fresh PLR. Keep your eye on the WSOs because PLR WSOs pop up there all the time. PM me if you want to know who my favorite PLR writers are.

I used to include the outlines I used to write the articles. I don't know if anyone used them, but I figured it couldn't hurt.
