You have the usual like finance, dating/relationships, health and personal development other than that you'll be hard pressed to get anyone to post their niches. Doing so could saturate the niche and make it unprofitable, this is why people are very protective about their niches.

It helps me, anyway ... because you have quite a few in there which are already on my own "shortlist" of potential future niches to try. Reassuringly.

Health is a massive niche with a huge number of profitable sub niches. I've found diabetes to be an extremely profitable niche, takes some work researching but once you get it rolling it is quite profitable.

Most of the "big" niches are over saturated, you're better off exploring some of the less profitable sub niches and dominating them before anyone else gets into them.

Diabetes should be a hot niche. However, its a life and death niche. It is vital that the product you are marketing actually works and its not the product of charlatans.

If you have any diabetes product you know is very effective, do let me know

I definitively agree with the first.... anything desperate or embarrassing... but I think that making money with hobbies is a bit more tricky.

Weight loss is probably numero uno, there is a huge market for dating/relationship/marriage related products, embarrasing healt issues... and male enhacement programs/product are usually easy sell.

Breaking into hobbyist circles isn't that easy... most of them can smell a marketer form miles away.

Wow, that list ought to keep him busy for awhile...

I'm not going to post a massive list as it would mostly be repetitive.

Finding niches is a matter of keeping your eyes open and thinking about two words - desperation and obsession. Desperation for the classic 'desperate buyers' markets - health, wealth, sex & relationships, etc. Obsession for the hobby niches and such - where people will spend money again and again, just to learn more or gain a slight edge or improvement.

If you can find a subniche of affluent buyers, even better. Gotta have money to spend it.

For example, I'm a fisherman and have been since I could barely walk. Over the last five decades, I've probably invested well north of $100k on my passion. Find a bunch of 'me's, connect with them, and you can sell them over and over again.

Wow, I didn't think people would give out so many of their niches. I realize most of the ones listed are very generic and you really need to "drill down" and find a segment of the niche that you can really attack and control. Something like the Dating niche is way to broad, you need to find a certain part of the Dating niche and try to make money there, something like "Best Places To Go On A First Date".

I could give you my top niche, for conversions, but you would wet your pants laughing.

But you are onto something there, find a niche within a niche. yes there are still untapped ones out there. But if there are buyer in this niche willing to spend money to solve their problem, then you have at least a good opening.

It all starts with the niche. To many people give up, when they did not do research and enter the right niche from day one.

There is so many good posts in here, but just look at the common niches that keep popping up in this thread...its a dead give away really.

Do a little research. Check out what people are going for nowadays. You could go for the big ones like Health and Wieght Loss. There's a lot of competition but it's a big market so you can steal some market share out of the pie. However, you should not discount the small ones either. They could be small in terms of market size but there is less competition and if you dominate the niche, you can still earn a lot.

There's a saying: "If there's a magazine, there's a niche." There are tons of profitable niches out there like gardening, dating/relationships. weight loss. make money, learn Spanish, learn guitar, fashion/shoes, cooking, toys, sports... The thing about choosing a niche is that it's not just about money. You should choose something that you have an interest in, too.

For example, I work in the "make money" niche now, but before, I was in the gardening and dating niches. Well, gardening isn't really my thing, and I couldn't stand all the people constantly complaining in the freaking dating niche. That __ got old real quick like for me. Other people love it. It's also important to note that some niche will be more profitable than others, but that doesn't mean you can't make money in them.

    Good luck,
    Joey

One of the ways I find niches is going to the grocery store and looking at magazines. Like the poster above me said, if there is a magazine, there is a niche.

You can even find sub-niches by picking up a magazine and looking at the topics the articles are on. For instance, if you pick up a woodworking magazine there will be articles on tons of aspects of woodworking... any of those is likely to be a profitable niche if people are willing to buy a magazine to read about it.

Anything involving desperation or health or urgency.

If you can combine desperation and health and urgency, even better.

Why do you think 'lose fat fast' products do so well? Because people are desperate to lose fat in a hurry.

I once did keyword research on musical topics.

It was all like regular words from 1k to 10k exact match searches.

Then somehow in between there there was the keyword big boobs. It had over 2million exact searches per month.

And as sex sells, i'd vote for sex

Try and find niches where you will find people who
    - have a deep problem
    - have a BURNING desire to FIX it
    - have the MONEY to fix it

Even in the subniches (the niche within a niche), you don't have to find a completely virgin territory. All you need to do is identify a group within that subniche that isn't being represented and craft your offer for them.

At the risk of revealing too much, here's an example...

One of the benefits served up in the MMO market is 'spend more time with your kids'.

Believe it or not, there are people out there who do not have kids, do not want kids, and will never have kids. For couples, there's even an acronym for them - DINKs. Stands for Double Income, No Kids.

Present your offer to this group, tailored to the 'no kids' lifestyle, and you could tap into a portion of a fairly competitive market.

"Sick of being dragged into the office on holidays, doing double work and picking up the slack for when the parents in the office have sick kids? Tired of hearing 'we're sending you on this crappy business trip over a holiday because you're the only one without kids'? Here's your way out..."

Don't be afraid to hit the "oversaturated" niches like weight loss, muscle building, dog training, dating, relationship advice, etc. Even in these big competitive niches you can find your own sub-niche with lots of traffic and lots of potential. The reason there's so much competition there is because there is money to be made and marketers that are profiting.

Any niche really that solves a problem is a worth researching as a potential money-making niche. Evergreen topics - problems people are perpetually dealing with, such as weight loss - as opposed to fads are always a good bet.

I am currently working the nostalgia Americana niches with my online publication, My Guide to the Backroads of America.

It works very well, because it is both a niche and something that covers everything from home decor and gardening to fashion and jewelry to kids clothing and toys.

Pretty much anything modern can be given a retro or vintage twist.

Another one I've seen consistent success in is sports injuries. ACL, Medial tears, shin splints and lower back problems.

The lower teenage female niche is hot right now too

So many niches, but #1 I think is definitely the "make money" niche. Broad for sure, but pretty much any sub-niche category under that one is a winner. Then Health/Dieting/Fitness niches are very profitable.

But JohnMcCabe is right about sub-niches, though I consider those micro-niches.

I think health niches can be good.

Usually they are evergreen, some are even growing in size (like these two here)

I think good niches to target can be ones that are confusing for the sufferer and/or the mainstream solutions are very limited.

Quiet often these people go looking online because they are desperate for help but can't find it anywhere else.

I've had good success as an affiliate with low testosterone and gout from:

Domain reseller business is the best online business.I started a business using the website GoResellers.com - Low cost domain names, domain transfers, web hosting, email accounts, and so much more. .They provide a full featured website at low cost. We dont need to deposit any amount. We fix the amount and gain profit. For eg. We buy the .com domain extension at $9.59 and sell it at $10.The benefit is that we
can buy the whole site fix the price and sell it.We will get more profit in this Business.

Really appreciate the list provided here but i have been working on the insurance niche but it's too competitive but works fine, on the other hand i got some traffic but due to affiliation with some companies google thought me as a link farm and panelized the site so now too much worried.

At this time i'm thinking to build another website but researching here to choose the decent niche now i think i should consider two of them, Weight loss, forex or it might be teeth whitening. But still confused. If someone worked on dog training or any other niche please explain using the experience. Many Thanks

      Hi,

The following are also great niches to make money in:
      1. Buying and selling real estate.
      2. Homeschooling. (First year, second year, etc.)
      3. Writing a book.
      4. Creating home videos.
      5. Scrapbooking (video scrapbooking is the hot trend)

The best way to make a nice recurring income is by choosing one niche on the above list and create a membership site on the niche. A pricing of $7 dollars a month can help you pay your bills and help quit your 9-5 job if you are still in one.

You can also sell other products in the back end.

      I hope this helps

A catch 22. I want to ask why someone would bump an old thread but then again I'm shocked someone used the search function.

You'd think this place would close threads at some point.
