INTERNET MARKETING

When your offline page is finished, open it up and answer this question:

"Would I buy from my own website?"

When you've succeeded in motivating yourself to buy from your very own website, chances are JUICY that other people will do exactly the same.

People tend to think alike. If you don't find it attractive and feel it isn't worth your money, why should anyone else?

Simple as that.

I do agree that if you would want to buy your own product - it MIGHT definitely sell...

I've applied it and it works. Well, it's more about picking a product that sells itself (necessities). If most of us need it, chances are you need it too. Works flawlessly.

It's a good thing to ask, although I've tried and I have a problem with techniques such as this because, personally, I find it hard to see my own site objectively. If I've designed it, I have my own biased opinions about it that are hard to see past.

It might be helpful to set a friend or family member down and ask them the same thing. Could be a more objective source of data collection.

When you have created/are creating a product, you are automatically emotionally connected to it...what I am trying to say is that, you may find the product really appealing, but your customers wont.

Isn't it the other way around? Since you've been exposed to your website and product so many times and you know your goals, you become somewhat immune?

I do that with my custom shirt sites, but usually before I build the site, like stoogefest said above.

Unfortunately I seem to be the only one that wanted to buy one of my shirts on a couple of my websites. I really thought the Morse Code Shirts would do better than it has. I am currently updating my sites (including this one) so hopefully things will change soon.
