How many articles should I have for a small nich site?

Hay,
I would like to know what is the minimum number of articles and videos I need to put in small niche site for seo, when the main purpose of the site is the
landing page/
And about the landing page, should it be the home page?
If not, so other than PPC how can I direct people to the landing page if in the organic results (regular SEO) the home page is the first page that they see when they enter the site?

  I say the more unique content & videos the better.. For a small niche site I would agree with sylarrr. At least 4-5 articles would be a good minimum. Having videos isn't a necessity for getting ranked, but it wouldn't hurt!
  
  Yes, make the homepage the landing page for sure. When you start getting backlinks naturally for your content many webmasters will just use the homepage. It's pretty rare to have a page other than the homepage receive the majority of the incoming traffic.

Definitely, five minimum. I agree.

But the more relevant content you provide, the more relevant you will become.

Minimum of 5 articles to 8 articles with photos/graphs/stats etc. At least 1 video and posting it to 15 video sites.

  This is the one I totaly agree with. I use this for micro niche sites but with 4-5 videos an I use my own personal software I had made to upload to 20+ video sites. Articles I have outsourced for 20 for $20-$40 then I'll spread them throught the web.

I'm a little surprised that people can nominate a number of articles needed for SEO without knowing your niche or the keywords for which you are trying to rank. How much effort you need to input will depend on these, and the competition for them.

The more the better. I don't think there is a definitive number needed, but the more times your keyword appears on the site throughout various articles the better it's going to work out for you.

I have sites ranking with one 500 word article, but others that needed more. I have one in a fairly competitive niche that requires a new article every week, and a large SEO campaign that's taken me over 7 months to get to page one.

Start with a couple, keep an eye your traffic and SERP.

There is no definitive answer.

Hey,

When it comes to SEO then there is no limitation until you reach your desired position or have desired number of visits. why you want the minimum or the maximum counts? Do as much as you can, it will ultimately help you.

The best way to get backlinks is to have something worth linking to.

Google can spot paid for backlinks a mile off. You'll never get as good results as you will with links from other people's websites that come naturally and genuinely because they think you have content worth sharing with their own visitors.

This is how sites with relatively few backlinks can, and do, outrank sites with 1000s of backlinks.

So, the answer is to focus on the quality of each page rather than the number of them.

I do have a site that only have 5 articles and it still ranks pretty on good for my keyword.. just make sure you support it with good backlinks

Hi,

The number of articles you will need depends on a few factors.

Relavancy of the article and your site.
Uniqueness of the article.
The target market you want to attract.
Whether your site is regularily updated with new content or blog posts.
etc.

5-10 Unique and Relavent articles is a good yardstick.

By definition your home page will be your landing page and should be optomized for SEO (Title using your main keyword as a minimum)

By starting to build a list and following through e-mail marketing and social marketing, when you have something new to announce will help improve the traffic to your site.

I'm no expert on this but I made the landing page my homepage, have more than 5 articles and zero videos but most of my traffic is from search engines. Maybe adding a video or two might get me more.
