Happy or satisfied? I think there's a difference...

I was happy when I made my first dollar. I'm still not satisfied (I don't think I ever will be), but I think I do pretty well for my family and I. I do online marketing for offline businesses, so I don't do much affiliate marketing. Maybe that will be next!

I agree gorufus, I meant "satisfied". I'm pretty sure I was just as happy back then but now Im more fullfilled with this level of income. How long have you been doing this?

I've been doing offline marketing for about a year now. It started pretty slow, but it seemed after I got my first client, the all just started to come in. Do you affiliate marketing?

I like site flipping as well, but I also dig building websites and some folks don't like doing that. And I will never be happy with my IM earnings. There is always a new goal in front of you (at least there should be!)

It took me 3 years to make money online...

2 years of 65 hour weeks. And a lot of blood, sweat, & tears. The tears weren't mine, they were my wife's!

I would say it really depends on when you actually reach the point of making money. Once you start receiving a steady stream of income from your online sources, then it becomes more motivating and easier to increase earnings. It can take some people a year or more to start earning what they want.

How long did it took for you to be happy with your IM earnings?

I was happy with my earnings the day I handed in my notice and started working from home... so about 2 years after I started out I guess... Still do a lot of web design type work to keep it at the level I like though... hopefully get more of the passive stuff coming in as time goes on, definitely going that way anyway.

Luckily there were warriors helping me and I succeeded beyond all belief.

I now probably earn more than my whole family in a month than they earn in a year!

But I owe a lot to this forum, and damn it is a lot of hard work! But all worth it.

I also have many big lists in several niches.

Taking action, and testing things really works for me.

Even though I do very well, I do not consider myself a marketer, just a testing nut!!! Sounds funny but I just test things and find out if they work, or fail and bomb horribly (this happens alot) Sometimes to find the gold nuggets you gotta dip down deep, break your pick, get your hands dirty and accumulate a few blisters...but its all worth it when you find that shiney gold nugget at the end.

I am reminded on Thomas Edison, who is my absolute hero by the way. What a man!!! He did not find out how to invent the light bulb instantly....he just found out 1000 ways how to NOT invent the lightbulb and for him was just a process of elimination. Eventually he got there, that is how it was for me and my niche marketing.

Whoa , 2 years.

I was happy when I got my first dollar and I'm always happy everytime I get money, but I'm never satisfied with my earning and never will be. This pushes me to work harder and make money more.

I'm happy every time I make money, may it be a dollar or 1,000 dollar

I failed for around 2 years. I started making some good money in the year following from Flipping sites. Since joining the forum I have learnt some great advice and am building on new ventures and projects building my income constantly.

My next step is to get a WSO or perhaps a coaching program running here.

I am still not 100% satisfied with my earnings and am doing as much as I can to boost them up more and more to reach my goals.

It's funny because once you start to become successful with Internet Marketing the first thing you tell people is to stop buying all the products and ebooks out there because you've been there and done that but thinking back, although just about everything was tosh it's kind of essential to understand and go through that pain barrier for a few years not making any money.

I guess you could see it as your schooling in IM. Personally I was about 5 years before it clicked properly and I found a route to market for certain products, once you hit it it's rinse and repeat.

I have been at it for 2 years now, and I am nowhere where i want to be. I would be happy be with $1000 a month for sure! Thats my goal right now.

I get happy every time i make money

I'm thrilled beyond belief with the amount I earn from IM. In fact, I often simply can't believe it's working.

My dream since I was 19 years old was earning money that would permit a mobile lifestyle. I'm making plans for going full time into IM ... I'm optimistic that in 2 to 6 months I'll be done with the 9 to 5 (even though it's my own offline business). I'm planning a sabatical or mini-retirement as Tim Ferriss calls it shortly after I leave the 9 to 5 world. It's a dream come true.

That said, I have so much fun with IM that I'll keep plugging away for years I imagine. I simply can't believe I earn money to research and provide information online and share with others stuff I've learned and discovered on topics I enjoy.

Am I happy with what I earn now? You bet. Is it enough? Almost, to create the lifestyle I want. Once I earn enough for the lifestyle I want, primarily a mobile lifestyle, the pressure to increase income will diminish and I'm sure it will be even more fun.

I have been doing this IM thing for more than a decade.

I haven't had an outside job in over 6 years.

And yet, I am still not happy with my earnings. I want to make more... But don't we all? With a few exceptions of course.

Just one year. The money started to blow up on the 11th month.

Ive been at it for about 3 years and havent made over a thousand dollars...I havent given up but I hope to soon be making a consitent amount...

I made $190,000 my first year I got lucky and built 2 websites and I was smart enough to build a list right away. My first launch was to my list of 500 people and i sold to 25% of my list. I think I made over 10k it was amazing. I now make a lot more money even though things arent perfect. I watched a video that i have in one of my auto responders the other day and I was like "wow thats cheezy" my niche is sophisticated so cheezy is no good AND it a series of videos running for 4 years - i realized its time to revamp my autos. Anyway right now im trying to do 1 million a year in income personal i hink if i cant hit that mark ill be, shall we say happier however ive been thrilled since the day i started !!! Let me encourage you all this is a great business stick with it focus and you can live the life most people only dream of. Just dont forget to pay your taxes!!!

It took me about almost 6 months to have my first earnings in the Internet Marketing business and man, I was really happy with what I have earned. Although the amount is nothing to be proud of, but I was very happy to have my first earnings online and that keeps me going to improve and explore other possibilities on how to earn money online.
And yet, it doesn't really satisfy me since I have a target (a gradual increase of earnings) each 6 months to challenge myself to do more and develop my Internet Marketing skills, since I started as an article writer. The idea that I had when I earned my first money motivates me that I can do better than that, and I can overcome that amount.
Personally, reaching the target of earning $1000 - $2000 a month would really make my satisfaction fulfilled since that will really help me and my family with some expenses. I just want the best for my family and that will satisfy my target for them. But I know, I shouldn't stop there since if I can attain that figure, I can do better than that if I keep on challenging and improving myself.

mhdeaton that's a lot of money for the first year. You were already ahead of people who do this for years so good luck to you with your goal.
