What? It has very important benefits to the business person. You can set up a detailed profile which highlights your skills and experiences. And it's a great site for finding jobs or researching companies to uncover new business or career opportunities. It is much more than a social networking site like Facebook. LinkedIn is almost exclusively focused on business applications.

So if you have any interest or need to explore or expand your business opportunities in any fashion, then LinkedIn is the place to be.

LinkedIn is a valuable resource to you and your business. When done correctly, you are up to gain a lot of values. And remember, unlike Facebook, LinkedIn connections are meant for BUSINESS purposes. Depending upon how much information you share, your profile can serve as your digital resume or your digital business card.

I dont think that it is only meant for business prospective, we can say that linkdIn is a facebook which an option or ad-on of business point of view and resources..

I've always wondered the same, I don't use it either, but it has grown in popular recently for sure. I've even seen a few fiverr gigs promising to optimize your linked-in account...

If linkedin was ethical they would have an unsubscribe button

They do not

As i understand it, linkedin sends spam everytime they expect someone to push a button

I prefer to stay linkedout, in addition to being tubeless, faceless and twitfree

linkdin is another social media website ..which provide different kind of function.
for example you can search jobs with this website .
and u can find job related query by this .....

Like a few other people have said, you ONLY get out of LinkedIn what you put into it.

As a social media platform, I think it's the best one that business people can choose because the mindset of the people on there is "i'm here to do business"...

Only a small % of people on there actually take FULL advantage of all the features that LinkedIn has, but I know from research that the ones that do, get the best results.

Lewis Howes has a course that teaches some fairly impressive tactics to grow a responsive group of followers on LinkedIn. He gives a bunch of free tips for signing up to his mailing list as well.

If nothing else, fill it with as much information as you can and use it as a personal blog/website and link to it from your business cards, email signature, etc. I know that when I'm prospecting as an online marketing consultant, people love to see a bunch of online contact information (Skype, LinkedIn, etc.). It actually adds a bit of credibility if done properly.

Got any insight on building up a group? I'd like to start a networking group and if it really takes hold I'll turn it into an association but I'm not very familiar on how to build up its membership.

I just re-read my post and it was some of the worst English I have ever written!

What I was trying to say is that I haven't done much work with groups and so I don't really know any solid tactics for growing its membership. Any light you could shed for me would be awesome!

I guess its the "Credibility Point" for most business-owners out there. If you are in consulting or in any other industry that warrants the need for credibility, linkedin is definitely a go-to social media site.

Importance of linkedin to business persons? It can improve your Google page rank by making your LinkedIn Profile available for indexing by search engines. Aside from that, you can use direct advertising with a LinkedIn ad that will be viewed only by the target audience you specify. For me, those are the most important help that linkedin can to every individual who are into business and I'm sure there's more.

LinkedIn is a great way to improve your SEO from LinkedIn in a prominent place in Google. To create a profile star to optimize your presence on the web that you must complete your profile, if the whole thing. Choose relevant keywords and be aware of them, my young Padawan. Do not hide your profile, which is a website where you want to show their artistic skills and experience.
