Just wondering if anyone had any new, old, clever, innovative or just plain great ideas on how to get targeted traffic to a web site ...

What works best? Search Engine Optimization, blog marketing, buzz marketing, word of mouse, article or content marketing, networking in social media forums, link exchanges ...

There are all kinds of ways to do this IM thing, which works best for my fellow Warriors?

    I would say SEO if you want long term organic traffic. Plus, if you build your backlinks intelligently, you might receive some more targetted traffic from them.

    For example, a useful article can get syndicated and read by numerous other people that might click on your backlink to visit your site.

    Blog commenting can get you traffic as well.

      I would definitely agree with you, Kril. I have found that SEO and backlinks from the right sites can make a huge difference. Recently, an online travel guide that I publish, My Guide to the Backroads of America, was reviewed by a site operated by Ask.com. This recommendation, along with their accompanying link, made a dramatic difference.

    In the world of IM you can't let any element slip through your fingers, if you rely solely on backlinks then your missing on alot of other opportunities.

    All techniques you mentioned is a must do and is the daily work of an internet marketers.

    As i'm sure all fellow warriors will agree with me, get your link out there by any means necessary, without risking to be sandboxed of course.

    You can get targeted traffic from big G.
    You can get targeted traffic from facebook and twitter.
    You can get targeted traffic from forums related to your niche.

    The best form of traffic is SEO, which is quite cumbersome, but would pay off on the long-run.....also article marketing could also serve as an important traffic method, but this deserves consistency to achieve results
