Royalty Free Computer DVDs? Your Advice Please...

Hello all,

I am not having much success with IM or affiliate marketing so I am starting to delve into another business model - Developing products for the royalty free market. I have been involved within the IT industry for sometime now so I will be focusing on it and my knowledge to create a range of various how-to topic DVDs.

I enjoy creating rather than marketing other's products. It is this that led me to changing my focus. I will be promoting other stuff, however my main focus will be on creating.

I have started my first project which I anticipate to complete by the end of next month. Without going into to much detail, It will be a how-to DVD showing various techniques to get more life out of your computer.

My first goal is to have 10 made this year. Although I believe I can crank out more than 10, I don't want to burn myself out, so focusing on 10 will be a good start.

My DVD's will be offered to resellers on a royalty free basis and will have a spot on the DVD to advertise a product or their business. I have spoken to alot of computer dealers and shop owners and all have expressed interest in my DVD's.

Now, what I have not decided on yet and hope that maybe anyone here could suggest, is the following:

1 - How much should I charge to resellers for my DVD's, so that they can copy and sell to their customers?

2 - Should I only release a certain number each so as not to saturate the market for my resellers?

3 - Combine all this into a subscription website and charge a monthly price (requires more work in my opinion) or...

4 - Forget selling royalty free just produce the products and sell it on Amazon or my own vending websites, plus offer to affiliates?

Thanks to all who read this and to those that comment. I will appreciate any feedback you may have on this business model.

Thanks,

Ivan.

    Do 4.

You could sell to retailers on a sliding scale. ie 100@$5 each, 10@$10 each. (Made up numbers.)

Also take a look at the site below as they sell and drop ship for retails and sell in bulk.
