I see people posting classifieds from time to time about PLR but are people buying a lot of PLR? Is there a good demand for it? The reason I ask is because I'm building up quite a stock pile of never before released PLR and I want to know if I'm wasting my time or not. So if you've had success selling PLR let me know I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

I use PLR for videos and ideas for articles... once in awhile i'll give one away free to my list. The true PLR's that cost $100's when limited are sold could be worth something, but the mass distributed ones selling for pennies are not worth trying to sell for a high amount.

If you have some built up, bundle them out and sell limited amounts of them for as much as you'd like.

I have huge success with PLR.

I use it to make videos. I just take PLR material, make PowerPoint slides out of it, capture with Camtasia, and presto video. I also use the article as my 'description', only slightly altered to support a set of keywords. Great indexing fast.

I used it for a lot of other stuff too, but that would be a looong convoluted story and it requires the use of many systems and tools.

PLR material can be very valuable ... IF you do something with it.

If you don't mind "indulging" a verbose marketer :-) Maybe my story about using PLR materials will help:

For many years I started grabbing PLR stuff up with the INTENTION of reselling or repackaging it ... and I accumulated GIGABYTES worth of very good material. But I guess what stopped me was thinking that "lots of other folks had it" and I would end up with all kind of competition and not make much money.

What a DUMB thing to do! I was sitting on a potential fortune.

    Here is what I did.

I went through ALL of the materials, and decided to create a package of products that were complimentary in one particular niche market. Of course I made sure that I used the products according to the licenses that came with them.

But the most IMPORTANT THING I DID WAS ....

I went through the materials, and modified it, tweaked it, modernized it, cleaned it up, added new twists and ADDED MY MARK to the products (again, the products I had ALLOWED THIS ... ALWAYS KNOW THE RIGHTS YOU HAVE WHEN YOU GET PLR MATERIALS!)

Basically the PLR products were the "bones" on which I built a MAJOR "new" product. And basically each "product" was like a "chapter" of a system.

THEN ... with the PLR products that I did NOT have the rights to modify (or I only had Master Resell Rights) ... I just included them as BONUS items with the package I put together.

Finally, I got some good, professional ecover and web design and built a site to sell the product (I went with HARD COPY ... not digital download ... all on CD ROM) ... which often allows you to sell the product for MORE MONEY!

Long story short (TOO LATE :-) ) ... the product has sold very well.

MY ONLY REGRET was not taking a good, hard look at how to use and implement PLR / Resell Rights Products as part of a product creation strategy.

I am a heavy user of PLR for my newsletters and Adsense sites. Also they can be used to give away as bonuses for other products. It's just faster and easier to tweak an article or ebook than to start from scratch. The demand for quality PLR will always be there.

As long as there are people who can't write or don't want to write their own stuff, there will be a market for PLR. The key is to make your offers unique. Only offer a limited number of sales. You might want to sell your articles without including resale rights. That way, you can keep your offers contained to your chosen limited circulation.

PLR with resale rights results in more people selling the same packages multi-times over. This might not concern you initially, but when you think about it, your offer can be up for sale on someone else's member site before you've even reached your limited sales. Then, people will think you sold them "used goods".

It's been awhile since I wrote PLR packages regularly, but here's what I learned while selling them.

There is a demand for PLR packages in certain niches. Some niches sell out right away, and some don't sell at all.

If anyone wants to share niches to write for, please do so. I'm thinking of writing some more packages.

          Curt.

Yes, it does very well and there is a huge demand. A lot of the most successful WSOs have been PLR.

Yes there is always a market for PLR, but here is the thing to remember. People want PLR that hasn't been sold with unrestricted rights, and have PLR which has limited rights as well.

I'll offer up my personal experience...

When I first started writing from home, PLR was one of the first things that I tried. I was attracted by the idea that you'd be able to make more per article than you would writing individual articles, so I worked away at several different topics that people always say are popular. I ran WSOs and barely sold any. The only WSO that I would have even remotely called successful was one that I did on diet reviews. The others hardly sold at all.

There were also times when I offered discounts on the PLR packs, but still very few bites. Maybe it's just my bad sales copy, but that's my experience. I know that everyone says that PLR WSOs sell very well, but it wasn't the case for me.

Now, I still have them on my website, but I'm thinking of taking them down shortly because I've been paying e-junkie and not making any sales...

    Love,
    Shannon

Hm, Theirs is always demand for a different sort of products.

Last week I lunch a WSO just to see If i get any sales for a Finance Article Pack - guest what with over 200 views I havent got a single order, but in my blog packages I always have some sales coming up.

So my point is if you offer somethink that members can benefit then you will have a sales.

I was planing too to lunch a membership site which offers quite a few products on monthly basic and the products are all customs and all it stops me was that I havent got a single sale for my Finance articles.

I am now looking for a few ways where I can get members that are hungry for quality products.

My membership site was going to be limited to 100-150 members anyway is not alot but it's still hmmm... If I dont have this 100 members I dont even make my ROI of what I am providing.

Any ideas here ? - where to get members ? how ? and if I offer a super super super quality membership site should I expect to see at least 100 members inside - and lets say I keep the price at $47

Take this as it's meant to be, but I looked at your WSO, and I didn't even bother with looking at the articles. The sales copy has so many spelling mistakes, that it shows the product isn't that high a quality.

Even here you keep saying lunch but lunch is something you eat.

I know English isn't your first language but it shows in the way you post your offers.

I'm gonna grab some eggs... omelette and RedBull..

        Laterz

        Peace

        Jay

p.s. Good PLR is always in demand.. the key being GOOD PLR.. I agree with Bev above about the WSO in question, if the sales copy is failing then so is the content..

p.p.s. Did you read this far down?

        p.p.p.s. Don'tcha hate pointless p.p.p.s 's?

I'm about to do an experiment with PLR, and if it goes according to plan, every project should net around $10,000 in about 1 week plus have a residual income for life or as long as you want.

As a PLR provider in the personal development niche, I can honestly say that there is demand for PLR.

Everyone's experience is different and no two WSOs are alike, but my real solutions to building sustainability are:

    1. Pick the right niche.
    2. Do something no one else is doing (or has the expertise/time/resources/guts to do).
    3. Do it VERY well. No exceptions.

You nail those 3 things and you'll find yourself in a good place.

Even though PLR is such a big, established marketplace with a very wide variety of quality, I can say that it's working well for me... and I only got my start in PLR less than 4 months ago!
