Your first reaction to your first pay check online?

Did you cry, laugh, went crazy like smashing everything in your room, prove to your relatives or parents (naysayers) that Internet marketing can generate income or just shopping?

How did you earn your first paycheck?

I was bloody angry. They tried paying me less that I should have been paid. Even 15 years ago, people were trying to screw you, but then, IM was all about porn back then so I s'pose it's to be expected.

Porn? Like for real? Were you selling it?

Well imagine the days of dial-up, DOS and Windows 3.1. There really wasn't much else to do on the internet, certainly nothing of value. No video or huge files, but yea pictures that used to take 2 minutes to load.

There was still good money to be earned though.

I did something, I recommend everyone do. I scaled what I was doing. My first sale just gave me the faith I needed to know, what I had been working towards was real, and if I could make 1 sale, I could make 100, 1000.

      I cried.

I can remember like it was yesterday. I swear.

I had made more in a day than I'd ever made at a 40-hour-a-week job. I'd gotten my first writing job. When I logged in to see if I'd been paid - I cried. I was so happy.

      I was also hooked.

I knew I could make a living online. A good living online. And I could still be a stay-at-home mom while doing it.

That was three years ago. It's gotten better and better.

You can safely say, I don't need my husband's wallet anymore haha. In fact, freelancing is good way to earn capital. Great job!

I was in college. around 1997 or 1998. My friend and I would put adult affiliate banners on our personal websites that were given to us by the school. The adult site at the time paid 18 cents per click and didnt really have any means of checking for click fraud at that time. So we'd head to the computer lab and click our banners on every computer in the lab... We used the money to fund a keg party. Eventually my web account was suspended by the school.

Suspended for promoting adult sites!? Hahahhaha funny. Man that was awesome, 18 cents per click. I think it is 1 cent per click now.

I was excited when I was paid by my client when I finished the project in about almost a month. I was, is this real and did I really earn some money online? Although the amount is not that much, but still, for earning some money first time through writing articles was an excitement to me at that time.
Since then, I am into the Internet Marketing business as I am earning some money to help me pay my bills and for purchasing some items that I need in the house. And also, provide the needs for my family.

I took my check to the bank and deposited it.

I dunno. I don't get emotional about things like that. I was doing work and it paid off, like it should have. It wasn't some great victory.

I was very happy when I got my first check. Very relieved also, because I was worrying all the time. All kind of thoughts were going through my head that something might go wrong. But it didn't so I started screamig and singing. Great memories!

My first reaction I freaked out, suddenly at the end of the month, I had a pay pal balance of $11,876 dollars. And I was like, WHAT THE HECK! turned out I'd left a few PPC campaigns on, each spending 300 dollars a day, And I was like almost double some days. Go figures. After that I've been making 4k a day doing a variable of things.

This was years ago, but I still remember it clearly like it was yesterday. The sale was made via my merchant account, and I became very restless and excited, continually checking the balance in my checking account to see if the money (a nice three figure sum) had arrived!

I can still remember my first sale, seems its just like just a few days ago. . . Oh yeah, it was just a few days ago when I earned my first commission. And that is after several months of trying. Initially it was surreal, can't believe that it was my first conversion. But when I finished pinching myself and have confirmed that it is really not a dream, I could not hold back my excitement. . . Even to the point that it got my wife's attention. Not to mention her getting a calculator and computing on where to spend the earnings. . . Well it was fun while it lasted. LOL

I was excited. Funny thing is that I didn't notice right away that I'd made money because I had a high payout threshold set with the vendor. Once I figured out what happened I started investigating immediately to see what I'd done right & tried to replicate the success.

I also told my parents & hubby what I'd accomplished, which was a great confidence boost. Sharing the success really pushed my motivation & I felt more accountable somehow, like now that I've shared my small success I've got to stick with this until I really reach financial independence.

My first reaction was " where would I get this cheque changed"...
As I live in Turkey, not many banks would change an American cheque and I still remember for a $240 cheque, I had to pay nearly $40 in handling fees

I took a pic of me holding my first actual check from my IM efforts. I sold on ebay which really to me does not count because I sold coins etc. Anyway, let me see if I can dig up this pic on my hard drive of me holding my first check from Google of 1,000 dollars.

I did not cry but I had tears, my wife told me to start making more of those sites she thought were pretty and pointless. She let me explain it to her after that check came in.

I knew it was coming but did not tell her. I let her open it...HAHAHAHAHA!

She cried for sure! We needed the money because I had just recently lost my job.

I remember that day vividly. It was a Clickbank
paper check and I was anxiously waiting for it
because I had just met their payout requirement.

Lol, I remember contacting them to make sure
my check was being sent. They must have got
a good laugh out of that.

When the check arrived I made a photocopy of it
to remind myself that earning online was possible.

Once you get that little taste you get hooked. And
if you are an affiliate of CB like myself then you
