The power of blogging.
Hello all,
I started my internet marketing venture in January of this year, I knew a bit about html, java etc through college so I said why not!
Anyways I set up my first site Watch This Cam, in my sig below. Anyways it was more of learning experience I didn't set it up to make "millions" I just wanted to gain experience in web design, affiliate marketing etc. I felt the best way to do this was by actually doing it!
To cut a short story short, I was getting a steady 150-250 hits a day from various referring, social marketing sites. Firstly ventured into a CPA company. Made maybe €10 in my first month. As the site grew I wanted to venture into other affiliate's. I joined Google ad sense followed by Amazon affiliates. I was now making roughly €15-20 per month. Just last month I added blog to the site. Started posting about relevant webcam related stuff, camera reviews etc.
At first nothing major happened, I got maybe 20 hits a day on my blog. Just last weekend I decided to blog a bit about hurricane Irene. I knew it was just on the brink of the news it wasn't big news but it was on the radar. So I posted about hurricane Irene added a few relevant live cam's from around New York and North Carolina. Didn't think much of it was just as relevant as my previous posts.
To my surprise I checked my Google Analytic stats Sunday morning only to find I had gotten 3420 hits on Saturday alone! I checked again today and had received a further 2430 hits on Sunday!
I made over €30 in the two days alone!
To summarize don't underestimate the power of blogging! A lot of people are saying blogging is dead blogging this blogging that. It is far from it, you just have to find the relevant topic and stick to it. I could of given up on my site a long time ago but I stuck at it worked different angles and I am quite happy.
I know I am not making thousands online like some of the "gurus" out there but at least it is a step in the right direction!
