Articles for backlinks

After the panda update I wonder if the backlinks from article directories carry any weight now. What are your thoughts?

    They are effective for us but we give them a little more juice by sending some tier 2 links to the articles also.

    The article directories generally lost 90% of their search engine footprint with the Google Panda update.

    If you read between the lines, that says also that the article directories generally retained 10% of their search engine footprint, in the aftermath of Panda.

    If you can figure out what allowed the article directories to retain 10% of their Google footprint, then you can figure out how to squeeze any remaining juice out of the article directories.

    So to answer your question: Only 10% of the back links from article directories continue to deliver link juice to the people who submitted those articles.
