Default Does anyone else make a living online?

How do you do it? Are you using online sites? If so, what types of sites?

Or do you have an off line home business? Feel free to post about that too.

Maybe we can exchange some ideas and help each other.

Thanks.

Yes, I make a living online.

I have different sites and blogs. I have AdSense on some of them. I sell products, my own and affiliate products, I have a payed membership club and right now, I'm learning about page flipping, so that will be the next step.

I am making most of my income from niche websites and a few niche membership sites. I currently make about $4,000 - $5,000 a month. You can do it!

I was full time a year ago, then I took a break since things was really getting on top of me. Don't help having a full time job since you constantly think about your IM business while at work but can't do a thing about it.

Though while on a break I started a blog which was catered around the freebie market, you know the types promoting sites such as freepay etc (Yes they do work!) just as a hobbie I thought this would be fun. I managed to get #1 for a really competitive keyword, it took time but I learnt so much from this which was to be patient and never rush things and also never give up!

I'm back now, last 2 months I have been rebuilding the blocks and getting ready to set my self up. Time to turn them free ipods into cash!

Cool, Amazing, Damn Right Easy! That's me in a nut shell...

Full time online since 1996 - websites, blogs, affiliate marketing, now doing some good flipping income as well, just sold one membership site and 2 more starting.

Just launched a new flat rate Mobile Text Broadcast service, which is actually to be sold both online and offline.

No complaints - can't imagine doing anything else! There are no limits to the ways or amounts to be made online!

I have been making my living online full time for over 15 years building websites from simple html website to very high end dynamic built websites. All sites I build are 100% from scratch.. I use no open source code or pre-built sites.

I have also produced a few info products in my days and earned from affiliate networks but mainly my income comes from my web development business.

I made my first sale in December of 2007 and have consistently made my income online. I am not rich, I want to make more, but for my first try and I blessed and excited that this business is working for me . . . as I work in it!

I think Newbies need to get the message strong and clear . . . this is not a "just add water" business. While many people can be successful, it still takes work, dedication, patience and ACTION!

Yes I've made a living "online" for many years.

But I really started making great money when I started selling my internet marketing services to ordinary brick and mortar businesses.

So I was providing mainly online solutions for those businesses (even though I did integrate some of their online and offline marketing).

I also sold my copywriting services to quite a few leading internet marketers (strangely enough that process was VERY similar to selling my internet marketing services to local businesses but that could just be me).

I love the freedom of this lifestyle but I know it's not for everyone.

For example my wife doesn't like spending that many hours behind a computer so she pursues other interests even though she'd almost certainly make more money working online full time.

I hope that helps.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

I make a full time living online. I started about three years ago?

I sell my own info products and services
I sell other peoples products and services

This is a great way to make an income because you can automate and leverage many things and you can be yourself. No ties, No crap.

Most of my income is still from offline business ventures, although I now have a plan in place to fully migrate from offline to fully online business activities. I do have a number of successful online businesses now, but want to focus solely doing business online with few exceptions.

Also, I'll speak up for my buddy Diego who makes a great living on line along with our JavaBeans Matias and James, who also earn their living online (the latter two are both 18 - been doing it since they were 16).

I've been making a living online as long as I've been making a living.

I'm 24, just graduated with my bachelors degree, working on a masters at night. Paid off a $200,000 college education before I was out.

I did try working for a while... went and worked as a software developer for Microsoft for 6 months while in college. Decided not to take the offer to stay after graduating, it's easier to just work for myself.

I make six figures a year selling advertising services, a couple thousand a month selling subscriptions to web applications, and $46k in the past two months selling a WordPress plugin. Then there's the odd couple hundred a month from direct ad sales, AdSense, etc. And a couple hundred a month in affiliate commissions.

If you want to see the sites... my blog and company's site are in my signature. I have no employees, and do all the product development, design, marketing and accounting myself.

Buying and selling websites is my game and I'm doing very well. Don't be fooled into thinking people who make a lot of money online are special. It's easy to make a full time income doing this stuff. I see lots of people going from nothing to a six figure business in a few months. The potential results are insane.

Much like Andy Cavanaugh and some others here, I make my living selling my IM knowledge to offline businesses.

My primary source of income is from selling ad placement (similar to Google Adwords) on a small network (nearly 5,000 sites generating 5.5 billion queries/month) of sites. The only tools i need are a computer, internet access and my Skype phone.

As a sideline, some of my customers hire me to spruce up their websites, do on page SEO, write content and generally be their internet consultant. For one customer, I am his webmaster and have a one year contract to conduct a backlink building campaign.

The advantage to my business model is that I get to interact with people on a personal basis instead of just communing with a computer all day.

The disadvantage is that it requires constant involvement and can't be automated. If I don't work, I don't get paid.

Over time, I will gradually shift to automated sources of income and phase out having to constantly turn the crank myself.

There are numerous methodologies of course and what works for one might not work for someone else. Great posts in here. Kevin is dead on when it comes to an evergreen income that can't be taken from you.

The key is to find something that you enjoy doing. I do some hands on stuff like my video service, but people who know me know that I have an ulterior motive, I am not doing videos for $10 each for the money. We are building a studio to do high end commercials and MTV type videos, that is where I am going with that.

I have adapted to my ADHD and I use it as a tool instead of it being a handicap and it allows me to accomplish multiple tasks. I enjoy building and flipping websites, I am one of the top authors on the internet and I create my own products.

The key is to find something and stick to it until you make money, most people just keep jumping around from one thing to the next and they never make any real income and get frustrated.

Hope that helps,

Gregg

Well said Gregg. A key is finding something you enjoy doing. It takes focus and dedication to be successful at almost anything in life, and if you enjoy what you're doing, it makes everything seem easier.

It's been a while since I visited the forum. It's amazing that so many people are doing so well on the Internet. And I really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. Thank you.

Like so many others who have already responded, I have been making money online fulltime since 2000. Everything from eBay to Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, Selling My own products, CPA (before it became hot), operating paid membership sites, and consulting with local business owners (before Offline Gold became hot).

I have my own dedicated servers and also offer web hosting and web design services to some clients.

It is a great business to be in, and the more people that find out about the better it is going to be!

So do you find things to be cyclical/seasonal?

I supplement my income online, by promoting incentivzed freebie website. It provides a great part-time income, but I don't consider it a business.

I'm using that income to creating a viable online business, before leaving the 9-5
(in my case 6-2)

I also do consulting with local businesses - so it kind of depends on what I have going on at the time.

If you run it like a business, you could consider it one, lol. Anyways, sounds like a great source of extra income.
