Can I set up affiliate program as a distributor?

Greetings...

I'm one of a 'handful' of people that are distributors of a unique baseball training product. The product is 'real' (not digital) and drop shipped upon paying for order.

Since I'm just a 'distributor' and not the owner, I'm wondering how/if I can set up my own affiliate group of resellers 'under me'. The payout would be about $15 -$20 for leads that turn into sales.

Any recommendations on how to set it up? Is there a 'clickbank' type set up for resellers of someone else's product wanting to set up affiliates of their own? Software program? WP plugin? Other suggestions for direct target marketing to the baseball teams market?

It would probably depend on any type of contract you have with the owner of the product.

You could look at getting your product listed on ShareASale. I use idevaffiliate to run the affiliate program for my custom shirt sites.

  If I were you, I'd simply start small and offer dropshipping services to those interested in re-selling the product.
  
  Make sure you have the sales in place before you invest in affiliate software. If the MSRP of the product is $100+, it's going to be hard to get affiliates for a $15 or $20 payout.
  
  There is a lot of website software out that comes with affiliate management. You could run your product through one of these once your sales increase.
  
  Keep it small to start!
