Huge Clickbank Commissions Question

Hey guys

I've never really done affiliate marketing before -- just have always sold my own stuff. But now i Am promoting a product that is supopsed to give me 75% commission.

Yet I am deeply confused.

The login screen on CB shows these numbers. (attached)

But then when I go into Reporting > Analytics > Affilaite > Sales and have the $ thing selected, it shows me amounts that are only about 1/3rd of the amount it shows on CB's main screen.

So if it says I made $31 dollars on the 20th on the main screen, on this screen it shows I only made 10.54.

Ugh what gives? Can someone give me a hand?

Yes as per my knowledge you have earned $31 dollars as the reporting screen is clearly showing it, however it would be best to contact clickbank and clarify your doubt.

Also, the analyics numbers match up to the original numbers after the 24th, but before the 24th the analytics numbres are only 33%.

So I thought I'd make $657 from this offer this month but I really am makin' $312

Just a suggestion: You might try IMing Alexa Smith (do a search on her name); she's the resident ClickBank Expert.

I use CB a lot myself, but I've never encountered what you are showing, so I cannot offer any advice of my own.

LOL, I need to do that myself, with this one. Have been reading Oilman's thread, but am baffled.

All I can suggest, Oilman, is trying ClickBank's "live chat" (because it's a bit of a bugger awaiting their sporadic email replies!). Or call them (800-390-6035 or 208-345-4245).

Not so far ... I was only being facetious. :p

I just make it look that way by ignoring all the questions I don't know (in the hope that someone like Bill Platt or John McCabe or Paul Uhl or any one of various other experts will smoothly step in with an answer). I don't understand from The Oilman's description what's happened here, and why/how, but clearly there's an "issue" there.

Clickbank witholds a portion of your sales as a "Return Allowance", which I found to be generally not more than 10%. You should be getting the balance released back into your account on a rolling 90 days from each reporting period. It appears they are holding back more than 10% though, so like everyone else, I dunno.

Yes, agreed ... it looks much too much to be that? Unless maybe there were earlier refunds leaving the account in the red, after payments out, I was wondering? But then they'd keep all of it until all that (and more) was cleared, presumably? (And one would know that, anyway? It would show?).

i have never sold via clickbank, but it would appear to me that the top table is showing gross sales. ie...total sales volume before any affiliate commissions or clickbank fees.

if your supposed to be making 75%. when you take the numbers in the bottom column for a given pay period, they are slightly less than 75% of the gross sales numbers for that pay period. the extra clickbank fees that are charged before you get your commission would easily explain the difference.

basically i am thinking gross sales are what customers paid. the 2nd column is your commission after the CB fees.
