Can anyone help me with a techy problem, I have just started using the internet hoping to make some spare cash for my retirement, I have some IT background but not in the website making field, the problem I have is I purchased a package of 24 websites that use PHP, my Host does support PHP but when I uploaded them to the server I can't seem to get them to work. Plus how do I link them to my website homepage for then to accessed by my visiters?. Also does PHP work with HTML, XML using 2003 FrontPage?.

    Hi Telboy,

I'd suggest taking things one step at a time. So don't worry about creating links (which is easy to do) until you've got your sites working.

What do you mean 'you can't get them to work'. You'll need to provide additional details for people to be able to help.

I would recommend setting up hosting with BlueHost.com

How did word press get in this, I didn't see anything where he wanted to blog?

Anyway, try changing the .php on the files to .html and upload your files, once they are uploaded then change them back to .php.

Well what can I say, thanks everyone for your quick reply. Charles can I just change the PHP over to Html?, because included in the site page is a group of videos that automaticly load when viewed through a browser, so I have been told. The person who put the site together said you only need to follow these instructions:- So once you extract and open each site, navigate to the folder and open the config.php file: includes > config.php put in your URL then up-load it to your server, which I did, but nothing happens. It must be me!!. And yes you can use them as a blog site articles with wordpress, but I would like them linked to my homepage.

Telboy, did you use a plain text editor to edit config.php? Using anything else can result in unpredictable results in the integrity of the file. Let us know.

Honestly, I find it odd for a host not to offer php these days. It's a very common feature. If it was me I'd be getting another host, but thats me.

If the host doesn't provide php, I don't see how your going to be able to run any php. Can't see how it would work even if you uploaded them as html and changed them after, gotta have the PHP engine to run any code.

    Hi there,

    Very true.

All hosts should offer PHP, it is very common nowadays as its more secure I guess. We accept PHP and I am sure Bluebayhost will who we work closely with.

I hope the above information helps.
