Danny, How about a 'video blog' where you can post some video of your travels, and let others make comments on the places, suggestions on sites, etc. Offer a 'contest.' Not sure 'where' you're traveling, but just to give an example: "Disney World Survival Tips Contest" let people give you their tips and the one you find MOST helpful, give a prize for. -Marcus |

Hi there, I am not sure how you would feel about this. I think you could possibly put Google adsense on there or something similar to increase the income generated from the website. This would hopefully help pay for those domain and hosting costs. There isn't just Google adsense there are 2 other programmes out there but I do not have the details to hand currently. If your interested just send me a message and I will look for the information. I hope the above information helps. |

Wow a world tour, that's awesome. What about putting a map of all the countries you are going to visit, so your friends and families have a better idea of where you are. Glyn |

Hello, I will be putting adsense on just help fund it a bit. A video diary is quite a good idea as I have a very young nephew that would be pretty cool. I have been looking at google maps module to add to the site that would be quite handy. We are off to toronto for a few days then off to new york then trekking across america via a lot of the sites to california then from california we go to fiji then new zealand for 2 months australia for 6 months then 3 months travelling asia....... sooooooo excited Danny |

Just be careful with Adsense that people don't click and click and click to "help" you .... I would never let any friends or family see any site that I have Adsense on but maybe I am paranoid ;-) Have fun!! Rosie |

I'm sure people all over would be interested in how you set this up so they can do it too. For instance: How did you raise the money? What made you decide on certain locations vs. others? What do you find intriguing about these locations? What paperwork, shots, etc. did you have to get? What are the steps for others to follow for the same type of trip? You could build it up big before you even leave and have people sign up for updates. There's great fun to be had in watching your trip in 'real time' and getting email updates about your new adventures. Real life doesn't keep up with our expectations of it. You can talk about your plans in each place, then discuss what really happened. There's also the human drama. They say if you really want to get to know someone, travel with them. If you and your girlfriend have a disagreement, you can each post your side of the story. My brother and I took a trip years ago and I'd LOVE to see our thoughts written out on the fights we had! I'd be immensely amused and there's much to be learned. Don't make joint posts, do them separately. You'll each have different and unique reactions to what you see so don't water it down in a joint post. This is your life experience. Document it well and let it serve as a learning site for thousands of others to do the same. Advertise the best luggage, restaurants and places you stayed for a cut. Use this to not only keep in touch, but as a guide for the thousands that come after you. Post photos, thoughts, video, 'we are here' maps etc. Encourage people to post questions. Answer them to teach more and gain a larger following. This can be huge! |

Not sure if this was mentioned, but you can seek feedback from people on what they'd like to know about your current location. Then, you can check it out and post your findings. You're probably going to do this anyway, but you could have a section on problems you encountered at certain spots along the way with advice to others on how to avoid them. It might be certain rituals you didn't know about or places that are off bounds to travellers. Or maybe language barriers and where you were able to find someone who spoke English. I can think of one question people might want to put to you... if you're going to Fiji - see where the show Survivor was held, check out the area, take photos of the camp areas or something like that. Maybe give a comparison - this is where the Survivors slept - and this is where the show crews stayed. ![]() Tony Robbins owns an island in Fiji, too. Sylvia |

I think that a list of "Great Deals" that you have found along the way would be helpful. I know a guy who used to go to Disney world every few years. He would blog about all the fantastic deals and great places to see in and around the park. Hotels with good rates and great accommodations Restaurants with amazing food and affordable prices Places that are tourist friendly Places where tourists get discounts All that stuff. Pretty soon he was monetizing it with some pretty substantial paid sponsors....just a thought! |

Adding video clips to the site from the locations you are at would be great. Document all the places you visit (like stores/restaurants/hotels...etc) and write reviews or do video reviews. You can then add affiliate links to the hotels. P.S. I LOVE Fiji!! I can't wait to get back there. |

Now that is some good ideas. I think its going to be pretty easy adding content to the site as The internet connections wont be availabble all the time but I can write. I want to be able to log photos for each day as there is nothing worst than wondering where you took a snap. Cheers Danny 93 Days To go!! |
