Sold My website today for 7 Grand

Opened an Ecommerce site as many of you know and had some quick success. Had it up for auction for a week and it sold for 7,000. I was hoping for a little more but it's not too bad for my first sale. I have an ebook I will be publishing next week about my success but I want to invest in another business too. Should I stick to E-commerce or product creation type of marketing? I want to get rich with this stuff not just survive. E-Commerce comes with many responsibilities and can be pricey if you don't get sales, so I am not sure where I want to go from here. So many options would love to hear some thoughts.

Well, since you already have your mind set on the ebook,do that, and get back to your e commerce biz.
Since you want to be ' rich' there, don't try to venture fully into product creation.
    Here's why:
Since you've got the skills and tactics profitable enough to get 7k from it,keep yourself more grounded, and at best you can jv with someone for the product creation.
    Hopd this helps.

    first off congratulations!

I agree, you have proved that you can get a website profitable and get huge profits from it. Why don't you rinse and repeat the process?

    Hi,

I want to echo what other have said, you had such success with site flipping why not do that until you can be considered an expert.

The IM world is full of one hit wonders who do something once then call them selves an expert to make a quick buck. Yet I always feel the real experts make enough doing what they are good at that there products they create are very much secondary to what they do well.

It just seems from your plan that you want to jump in on the product creation band wagon before really cementing yourself as a true expert.

PS great job on the website though that is a whole lot of money and must really have felt good.

Congrats on your sale, mighty good one I may say. And as with many have observed and made good advise, I would say website flipping would be a good option to consider. . . and have fun with the fixing up part of flipping.

Kudos to your sale and as they say, keep em comin. :-)

Curious you are focusing on writing a 7$ ebook instead of building 10 more sites like this for 70k prospect sales

You seem to have a grasp of site flipping. Could you make 1/2/3 sites per month? That could be a nice income and if you have money to invest in it, why not?

Informational products are cool for quick bucks - but site flipping is something you can do to maintain a regular income.

You don't need to settle on ONE method. Why not make the guide up about site flipping, try flipping other sites and work on your next Eccomerce following a similar model as you already know that works?

Guys this is all awesome and priceless information! Thank you Yea investing in a next project seems to be the way to go I am looking at some websites on flippa right now, I just need to learn how to judge value. I know I couldn't make 3 ecommerce sites a month and sale them for big money, those take some time to build up.

I have so many ideas flowing into my head and look forward to investing in the next big thing. I had to pay about 3 grand off a debt I owed a manufacturer so I have about 4 grand or so from the sale itself so it's ok for a first sale, would have liked more. I had a bidder emailing me asking me to sale it to him and that he missed the end of the auction so I know there was money left on the table. Part of me wants to create another site in that niche, but I would feel bad to the party who trusted to buy from me.

I am going to read over your feedback again, thanks so much for your time and input I appreciate everyone of you.

Invest carefully. Lots of scams on Flippa. Would hate to see you lose some of that hard-earned money.

I suggest that you get into adsense. Buy a few hundred adsense sites and let them sit there. Add content to them and build the rank with SEO.

Congrats on your sale. What kind of site?

You already know the answer to your question. You did well in whatever endeavor you participated, its high time to leverage on that thing. Any other thing you would be doing now is gambling which is also very welcome. Without experimenting you can not really know what works and what does not. Stick to your primary source of income and give partial time and investment to experimenting like you planned to do.

Wow, great to see someone else's success in Flipping.

Flipping websites actually makes about half of my monthly money. So I guess you say that its my part time "job"

    Keep up the flipping!

I would definitely suggest just scaling what you're doing because obviously you know how to do it and do it well. If you can outsource most of your work, that would be ideal...you could have a few sites up and running at the same time.
As many people have already suggested, I would go with flipping.

    Oh and btw congratulations

Congrats, but there's one thing I don't understand - why sell and not just keep it and collect the profits? Should be much wiser decision in the long-term, unless there are some circumstances predicting the site to fail of course
