Ranking on local googlesearches

Hi

Just started out in the IM-world, reading lots and lots and have a few sites out there, trying to get them on the 1st page of google. (not as easy as some I would like it to be)

I'm from Norway, and have a few ideas from this forum I would like to implement in my own language, and rank them on local searches.

My question is how do I do this? Can I still do SEO on a international level, and rank on norwegian searches and keywords?
Or should I focus on building links on .no sites first?

    As you want to spread locally then first you should know the people's demand around your place and observe what they enter as a query for search the most and according to that set your keywords so that when they enter query your site will be look first as locally and provide best information on your site so that they stay connected to you and make conversation with them and know their reviews. And quality information helps to get high page rank.
