How to get eBook sales at launch?

Hey everyone, I just launched my ebook on affiliate marketing and I am having some trouble with getting it looked at and getting sales.

I am big on affiliate marketing and SEO, but when it comes to selling my own product, I am a newbie.

If anyone could maybe give some advice on how to get quick sales on a new ebook, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am currently just using AdWords to get some traffic, but I personally have never had any luck with adwords.

Eventually I will be getting sales through SEO and getting ranked in keywords, but for now I need something that will drive me some sales.

My new ebook also has an affiliate program set up for it through ejunkie and I am offering 75% commission. My site is the link in my signature!

if you have had success making sales as an affiliate for others, i would suggest you use the same marketing methods you use to drives sales to those products.

and if your having trouble making sales that way, you could always sign up as your own affiliate and make sales the way you know how to make sales...by being an affiliate.

I am looking for more of a quick way to get the word out. I see they have a section on these forums where you can post your product, but you have to pay $60 to post. How well do these products posted on this forum do?

Tmill... If the sales letter page to your ebook is in your signature, you've definitely got some work to do.

You've given almost no indication about what the book is about, besides the fact that these are the lessons you've learned. What will the customer learn? You haven't given potential buyers any details/bullet points about what's in the book. In all honesty, it just looks like you threw up the page in a mad rush.

If you want to sell on this forum then you have to understand why people buy things here (I struggled with this one a few times).

Go into the Warrior Special Offers section and read through the sales copy for no fewer than 100 different products. What piques your interest? Which offers make you want to whip out your credit card? Are there any words or phrases that bonk you over the head?

Take some time and redo your sales copy. Spell check your sales copy (hint, hint). Get a blog going to build up some street credibility in the affiliate marketing niche. Remember, buyers in this business have a HUGE selection of ebooks to choose from.

    Good luck!

    Just trying to help

As an affiliate marketer, the first thing you look for in a product to promote is a sales page that can convert visitors into buyers. Not trying to shoot you down, but your sales page (as Dahlia said above) needs work. I can't imagine an AdWords campaign with keywords related to "affiliate marketing" would ever turn a profit with your page.

Specific is always better than general in terms of sales pages. You're trying to sell a general product to people who have specific needs. You listed the benefits of your product, but those aren't really benefits... they are way too general.

Rework the sales page into a more standard looking, one-column sales letter. You need to establish some kind of dialog with visitors to pull them in to your concept rather than starting out with a "Buy This" theme.

Not being a bad ass about it, but I could see sending a thousand visitors to the sales page and not getting a sale. Honestly, I wouldn't even consider trying to round up affiliates until you have a sales page that can convert at a bare minimum of 1%... 2% would be better.

You also mentioned that you recently "launched" your product. I don't know what you mean by "launched" but if you mean you just put up your site and made it available... that's not a launch. As an affiliate yourself, look at how big product vendors launch their products. It involves much, much more than just opening up a web site to the public.

I do want you to succeed with it, but I think you need to work on getting a sales page that converts first, then work on the affiliate thing. You're not going to get any big affiliates promoting the product with your current page. Again--not being critical, but you asked for advice and I've given you the same advice I would give my best friend if he asked the same question. --Mike
