Money doesn't grow on trees, it grows in Broccoli

What I find interesting about this is the dichotomy between somebody this honest (with the forethought that his find could cause him more trouble than it's worth) and Internet Marketers that give no thought to their own reputations when hyping (lying about) their products.

The IM niche is a big niche, but it's still a community. When you create products and make promises you don't keep, you will quickly become a pariah.

Heck, there are marketers that are honest, but a mistake along the way lands them in trouble. You simply have to be very careful.

I wonder if the people that create some of the more disingenuous sales copy out there would've returned the money.

Also, if you read to the end, he may get to keep the cash. I hope he does, because it would be nice to see somebody that did the right thing get rewarded.

Haha! That's pretty wild! Yeah, it's too bad that most of the sales pages out there are written by people who would likely sell their own mother if they would get paid enough!

Unlike you, I think a lot of IMers work their best magic online with optical illusions (photoshopped pictures of income) and other tricks such as magically changing a "one click" product into a product with about 375 clicks and a drawn out process.

*waves hands in the air mysteriously* MAGIC

Jokes aside, it's great to see that there are still people out there that are honest and actually think through the possible bad effects of their actions.

I just appreciate you didn't make a, "Can you make [fill in the blank] disappear," joke.

I literally heard that from three different people within five minutes one night.

Can you make my wife disappear.
Can you make the bill disappear.
Can you make the bartender disappear.

      Ugh.

Sooo...you're saying that you can't make them disappear? (j/k)

I think that I would have returned the money as well. That guy was very smart to turn it in. In that situation he had absolutely no idea what the money was connected to or who might need it.

i heard this story this morning on a local houston radio station. they were slamming the guy for turning the money in.

that part kinda made me think about where our world is headed when the advice some of our media is giving is just so shady.

Remarkable story. I love how the police left their business cards where the money had been. Hmmmm .... I wonder if they'll be getting a phone call?

He's a smart and honest man. That's a wise decision to call the police instead of being greedy.
    Lol on the "please call"

Well the recent trend in I.M product launches are creating awesome videos with graphics & eye grabbing webpages but do we really need them. I mean in terms of getting attention from people it`s a good deal .But what about the stories they cook up like this for ex, been doing I.m for years but haven`t earned any money but within a night they find some thing like an extra terrestrial object out of nowhere & suddenly you find out that he has a bought a ferrari in 3 months would you believe it how funny it seems do they really think we believe it.

It shows strength of character to do what is quite palpably right. Doing what's right is the mark of a good person. And good people have their own reward in knowing that what they did was right.

Apart from any benefit that may accrue.

Thanks to the OP for shedding some light in my otherwise difficult day.

There was a similar story here in L.A.; where an illegal was waiting for the bus when an armored car went by and out the back fell a bag of money.

This guy, in a bad neighborhood in LA., now finds himself with $30,000 in cash. He too turned it in because, "It was the right thing to do."

The police did the right thing as well and looked the other way on his immigration status.

That's a lot more American than many of the people born here would behave.
