New Website & Received Over 1,000 Visitors So Far!

I thought this may be a great post to share because it is motivating for new bloggers and internet marketers.

20 days ago I decided to create an online boating store because I love that niche and I thought it was a great target audience. I worked on the website for quite a while (still being worked on with new layout) and decided to officially launch it and market it.

I did my daily routine of SEO and marketing to work on getting targeted traffic to my website and it paid off quickly. More quickly than some other websites I have done in the past.

Within these 20 days of the launch, I have received over 1,070 visitors and 5,943 page views! 95% of that is unique visitors and page views so it is pretty accurate. This is a great start for such a new website and I expect the numbers to grow more with the more work I put into it. Sales have gone up and I have received quite a few through my affiliate programs.

So this just shows that if you have an idea, you should test it out, work hard every day, learn from your previous mistakes, and stay positive. It will pay off in the end.

Keep on going strong with your internet marketing goals and I wish you the best of luck!

In case you are curious, the website I launched was BoyerBoat.com: Better Boating Products, Better Prices . I am working on a full new layout/theme for it so it is going to look 10 times better soon which I know will help the duration of visitors.

    That's great Brian!

I assume for marketing you were doing things like press releases and maybe submitting articles?

I have done a few press releases but no article submissions. Working on that right now actually.

What a great niche and great website!

This is a perfect example of how being focused, even for a committed period of just a month, can deliver results.

This is pretty cool Brian, great looking site.

So where do you get all of the products for a page like this? When I click the add to cart button and proceed to checkout I see an Amazon link. So is this some type of Amazon program where you create a website and manually add products to your page?

I am interested in building something like this as well but would like to get some insight from someone who clearly knows what they are doing in this particular subject.

One more thing I want to add - What platform did you use to create that website?

    Hello Brian,
its good to know that you had that kind of results in such time.

Please could you share what you did to get that traffic? I mean what are your where the source of your traffic ? Article submission to directories, forums, blog comment etc? I know that not all sources work the same. I have never had up to that amount before and maybe I am doing something wrong. Please help. I know it is not easy but I am ready to work.
    Thank You,
    Jideofor.

The website is powered by Amazon Associates and you can find a variety of software online that allows you to create your own online store once you are an affiliate member.

This website has been customized a lot so it looks much better than the default Amazon stores. Still having some updates being applied to the theme.

Feel free to PM me if you would like help with your own.

My daily routines for traffic really include a large variety of things. But it really boils down to SEO, forums, blog commenting, article submission, social media, and various advertising that is free or very cheap.

Most of my traffic is from actual Google search results and forums. Craigslist is also an amazing tool if you advertise right.

If you would like some in depth help with traffic, please PM me.

Good luck with your store. Is yours the same niche? My targeted traffic secrets?! You will NEVER know! Lol I'm just kidding. For traffic in general I just use the set rules of gaining backlinks and traffic but for targeted, I like to hit up related forums, blogs, popular websites related to my niche, free/low cost advertising, classifieds, and work on promoting my products/website through press releases.

I do much much more but it is a lot to type out. If you are not familiar with gaining traffic at all and are new to it, you can PM me and I will help you out there.

      Good luck!

This is a nice start! I like your site. I think you have a winner here, and if I were you, I would continue working on this. I think you have a lot of potential with this site.

How long did it take you to design this site? Web design is probably my biggest weakness. I am decent with Wordpress and Xsitepro, but this site looks like it would take a lot of time to setup.

I have an idea for a store that would probably do really well, but I don't know if I have the patience to put together a site with hundreds or thousands of pages of products.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the positive review honestly. Makes me feel all warm and tingly inside lol.

The website has been up since about August 14, the new layout has been in the works for only a week. Yes.....only a week and it is just about done besides a few minor tweaks that I will work on in the next couple of weeks.

But the design is really customized by a good friend of mine and an amazing CSS web designer. He has been an amazing help throughout the process and I am going to recommend him to anyone who is starting a project.

The setup is pretty straight forward and doesn't take long, but the time to customize and get it looking right is the most time consuming. If you ever need help or advice with anything involving a store or website marketing, please PM me and I will help you out.

      Thank you!

    Excellent, Brian!

And thanks for posting! It's just the thing to inspire some anonymous newbie to take action now!

You may not be rubbing elbows with Warren Buffett by Christmas, but this may be the ideal model for students who have limited time and resources, want the hands-on learning, and a respectable return for their time, mostly passive.

Thank you Brian for the info about Associate-O-Matic!
I looked at their website and some reviews as well. People are saying that they have a problem with Google seeing all Amazon data feed pages as duplicate content and they have to block all product pages from indexing to avoid penalties.
How do you deal with it?
Also, many IM full-timers advise not to use data feeds at all.
They say that you will make more sales if you will have just 10-15 articles describing or comparing 10-15 products in detail.

I am new to all of this and I'd appreciate your advice.

    Thank you.

To avoid penalties the best thing you can do is to create unique content for the site so it all doesn't seem like duplicate content. So what I am working on is creating an article section, forum, business promotion section, etc. That way the website is unique and not just a store full of products and those links.

That is about the best you can do. Just do not keep the very default store and let it go.

You may make more on a review website because it is targeted specifically to certain products. With this site, I will still be able to generate a decent income and have already been doing so within just this month. It all depends on how well you market, advertise, and SEO.

How did you get traffic from SEO if your content isn't unique? Is it product name keywords your targetting for the search engine traffic you are getting?

Thank you. It was a lot of hard work and had to work with a great CSS designer but it paid off. This was created using Associate-O-Matic script (AOM) and was fully customized by a designer I found. Amazing work for the cost.

Thanks. Yes it is product keywords and descriptions. A lot of my traffic comes naturally through Google Search which is good because people can search for a product related to boating and they will find my website within the first few pages (for the most part). I am working on creating more unique content and other sections for the website so that I can get it to rank higher in search results. It will be a big journey but I will get it working 100% soon.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback everyone!

Quick question, with a store like that, would there be problems ranking in Google? I mean, there's not any unique content in it, just listings...

    By the way, good luck!
