I do not know if anyone has posted this, but the dance between Amazon and California continues.

I thought some folks might be interested in this info.

    I think the definition of hiring needs to be clarified. I am not sure if an affiliate is a hire. According to the state the affiliate is a representation of the company and that is what they are on the path of collecting these taxes.

    Amazon says affiliates are not represetatives or employees. This will be interesting to watch

      The 7,000 jobs are not affiliates - the article says they're mostly distribution center workers.

        Ok granted that, they will be distribution workers...so they will be employees but what kind of jobs are we talking about?

        Minimum wage with really bad benefits...unless they Amazon are really equaling what California thinks it can get from collecting sales tax it really is not going to work. Or it just may be a politcal win for California politicians that they brought 7000 jobs to the state by bullying Amazon.

        However these are high turnover crappy low end jobs, where these people really dont pay enough in taxes anyway to solve the states problems.
