Experiences testing cent pricing

To add cents or not to add cents?

I'm going to test it out of course, but I'm curious what you guys believe and have seen regarding pricing to the cent vs whole dollar

$149.97 vs $149

$127.90 vs $127

$16.95 vs $17

etc

Any and all thoughts are welcome, no matter how crazy

I tested this out in one of my ecommerce stores a few years back, and the conversion rate was best when the cents following the decimal mark were a random number. For example: $49.63 or $33.17

I'm not sure if it was market specific, but we now do that for all of the product pricing in our ecommerce stores.
