(Sort of) Another CB Thread: Need Advice on Removing Products

Hi All,

I've seen so much fraud through CB when it comes to selling quality software and scripts that I'm very close to pulling all of my products from them. My dilemma is with affiliates though...

I have a hundred or so affiliates promoting the products, but I don't have contact information on most of them. So if I close down the CB side of things and make affiliate promotion available through PDC only, a lot of people may have no idea of the changes.

Does anyone know of a graceful way to make a change like this? Do you think I should simply leave it alone and swallow the fraud coming through CB? Literally 50% ++ refunds without any contact or questions, while I've got 0% on sales outside of CB and rave reviews from everyone.

I've had this happen with software/scripts before and got so disgusted I simply pulled the products from the market. I'd rather not do that this time around if I can help it.

Thanks in advance,
Kathy

Sorry this is happening to you Kathy. I have one of your products. 50%+ refunds has got to hurt.

I have no products on clickbank. So I may not be the best one to say anything. I know I have checked from time to time with the partial "clickbank url" + clickbank to find out what came through, or who else is promoting it.

This gives me the website promoting it. That would give you some of the sites, but certainly not all.

In addition, I am sure some of your customers are promoting it, so you
could let them know of any impending changes.

I had looked into software that would have the affiliates register with
me and then I would be able to contact them. I cannot remember what
it was right now. There is a couple.

Would that be a possibility for you? You may lose some people but they
may find you later and from then on out, you would have their contact
    info.

Try contacting clickbank and ask them to remove you from their marketplace and if they can contact anyone who is promoting your product and tell them that you are no longer using clickbank.

I know they sent out an email last week to those promoting a certain product that was removed from the marketplace and it even listed alternate products to promote

I just read a few CB related posts in the past week that seemed to have a lot of concerned people discussing the same types of issues that you're experiencing. If I were in your situation, I would search through the old posts and send out a few very select PM's.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and comments on this. After getting some much needed sleep last night I looked at things with fresh eyes this morning. Some quick number crunching showed me the refund rates aren't as bad as I'd thought. The initial numbers are showing just under 20% - still not great but not surprising for a higher end/higher priced software product (at CB).

I'm going to take a harder look at my admin systems and processes to see if I can shore some things up before making any drastic changes, then keep a close eye on it for awhile.
