Can I Crowdsource Articles?

You know how 99designs allows you to crowdsource designs?

Can you do this with articles?
-Give people a topic
-Tell them how long you want it to be
-Offer a prize
-Only pay (and use) the winning article

Does this exist? And if so where can I find it?

You could crowdsource articles at sites like microworkers.com and mturk.com.

Most great writers don't write for free, so unless you have a really great prize, you are not going to attract a professional writer to enter your contest.

Some writers are going to think you are running a scam to get free content too, so you might have trouble running a contest like this.

Talented writers would never play this game.

Hacks might play, but I'd be scared as to what you might get in return.

When I attempted to outsource article creation through mturk, 90% of what was submitted to me was copy-and-pasted directly from the web.

I bet you will find the same results.

Yep you are right about Mturk. I did the same thing, and almost all of the articles I got were copied from the internet.

I shouldn't have mentioned Mturk. I only mentioned Mturk because it is a crowdsource website.
