My advice would be to remember in detail a bunch of stories that relate to promotional efforts you've performed in the past. Mention what you did, when you did it, and what the result was quoting real figures. This is the best interview technical iv ever used. Everyone has more confidence in you if you have a track record of success.

Also understand that the person interviewing you might not have any knowledge of IM at ALL. So a load of technical talk regarding PPC, SEO etc... will go over their head. Better to relate all the information in a simple manner. For example I previously promoted sitex.com. I was able to raise the number of monthly visitors from xxx to xxxx and as a result increased the income of the website from xx to xxxx.

    Hope that helps.

PS. Also have some amazing answers to the retard interview questions - "Whats your greatness weakness" "What animal would you be if you could" etc ....

Well, those guys who worked their asses of as an employee when FB started off is very happy now, right with their millions?

There is nothing wrong with working for a company or being an self-entrepreneur. Different people have different needs and are in different situations in life.

Allow me to share a story.

I was fresh out of Journalism college and looking for freelance writing opportunities. To that point, I only had worked a few months in an editorial position at a large magazine publishing firm.

I compiled a 3-ring binder with samples of my best work (including photos, articles, photocopies of my diplomas, and a few reference letters from previous editors).

Dressed in a handsome suit, briefcase in hand, I headed to the interview. When I met the editor, I stood tall, looked her in the eye, smiled and greeted her by shaking her hand. She took me down the hall to her office where she offered me a seat at her desk.

She asked me 2-3 questions and immediately went into what she was looking for in a writer/photographer. All the while that she was talking, I leaned forward in my seat and showed that I was attentive and listening to her every word. About 30 minutes or so later she seemed ready to give me the job, but she hadn't seen my portfolio. I offered it to her and her response was,

"I don't need to see that. The moment I saw you I had confidence in you."

I was shocked! It was THAT easy to get the job. I ended up freelancing for her for over a year and then for her replacement editor.

My advice to you is to go in looking confident. Take all the evidence you can muster that reveals clearly what you can offer. Show letters of appreciation from previous clients. If you don't have any, go get some. And as someone already stated, talk on their level with numbers rather than technical jargon. Tell it in a way that they can immediately appreciate and be impressed.

You don't mention if it's full time or freelance.

In my experience, a great way to sell your services if they are hesitant to add you to your payroll because of the cost to them, is simply to offer to work on a contract basis. They would not have to worry about vacation pay, workmen's comp, or any of the other costs involved in hiring. You can charge a bit higher than their hourly wage because they will be saving in all these areas.

It's worked for me amazingly well several times in the past.

Be prepared. Be confident. Be relaxed yet attentive. Look them in the eye. Lean forward in your chair, rather than sitting back.

Have a list of questions ready to ask them, such as what their goals are with this site: traffic expectations, any time lines that they'd like to achieve, income goals from the site, how they will make that money, who is their target market, what results have they achieved to date and, perhaps most important, ask what has been their biggest challenge with this site.

Then, be ready to feed those responses with answers as to how you can help them achieve all of those goals and overcome those challenges. Study their site well before going to the interview.

    Hope this helps.

    My turn.

One of the most frequent asked questions is "where do you see yourself in 5 years". Some people blow this because they are scared to admit that their ultimate goal might not be what the company wants it to be -- or worse, they haven't got anything really solid to say.

Know what your goal is - be able to explain it solidly and make it real to them.

Good luck. When you get the job, ditch that loud, annoying pinging sound the live chat popup makes! Almost gave me a heart attack when I was looking at the website.

Good point, but there are probably others in the same position that may benefit.

My best advice...don't lie and make sure you have nothing embarassing on any social media sites.

Be confident, but don't fake confidence. You know you're talented, so have trust in that.
