24/7 Support - Not Quite...

It seems like every piece of software these days comes with "24/7 Support". Let me just clarify something...24 hour or 24/7 support means that you can get support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, meaning that you can send an inquiry at ANY time day or night and receive a response at that time.

So far every IMer in my experience that claims 24 hour support means that you can email them anytime, 24 hours a day but often times they won't even respond within 24 hours (usually it takes a couple days) much less at the time that I send my inquiry. Of course I can email you anytime. I can email anybody anytime. 24 hour support means that I should be able to get support anytime.

I don't mind it taking a day or two to get a response, UNLESS you claim to provide 24 hour support! This seems like yet another area in the IM community where deception has creeped in and is used to make you feel more secure about your purchase.

I understand that it's fairly impractical for most IMers to be able to offer 24 hour support; all I'm asking is that they stop saying they offer 24 hour support when they don't provide support 24 hours a day and they have no intention of doing so. It has gotten to the point where when I see "24/7 Support" in a sales copy I get totally turned off and lose any interest that I had to begin with.
