How Do You Value a Website?

Warriors...

I have two websites (aged domains) full of good content in hot niches...acne, get ex back...

I really have done little to promote them and want to sell...preferring to focus my IM efforts in CPA...

My question to you is how do I value them? Neither are actively earning any $$$ but that's because I have not promoted them...one had 1277 visits last month and the other 377...

Thanks for any advice...

Your best bet is probably Flippa. Just explain what type of potential you feel they have in the auction description. It's obviously not "apples to apples" but we generally get 12-18 months worth of net profit for a domain. Proving potential is a bit challenging though.

Try and find some similar website that are for sale (or sold) on Flippa. This will help you to estimate the market value.

Here is a few more things to consider:

    - Domain name (exact match, premium, 1-3 character etc)
    - Google Page Rank
    - Alexa Rank
    - Traffic
    - Revenue
    - What the website does
    - The potential

Post a couple of website links so we can have a go at estimating their value.

The basic valuation of your site is the average total income of your site for last 3 months multiplied by 12 months or 24 months if you're lucky.

Now that your site has no income it is a bit tough but here's how you can value it or increase it's value. Here are some more valuation points...

    1. Number of subscibers you have in your list.

    2. Content or unique articles or blog posts on your site.

    3. Your monthly traffic, whether it is organic traffic?

    4. If you have top page ranking for any keywords in your niche.

    5. Have you created your own products, ebooks, mp3's, squeeze page, free giveaway for your squeeze page, etc.

    6. Your website or blog design, is it a unique design, attractive, professional, etc.

    7. If you have made some sales of your products probably your product conversion rates or lead conversion rate for specific traffic sources.

    8. Have you setup a series of follow up emails to sell your products or either your affiliate products. Simply means do you have a product line or a sales funnel in place in your autoresponder system.

Probably this is what I would be looking to value a site as all the above takes time and money to create. Hope this helps...
