Is My Product Landing Page Missing Something?

My online store that I have been working on recently is just about complete besides a few minor tweaks. Thanks to those of you who helped me with the other questions.

This one is about my product landing pages for my website. I know that the product should be the main focus of the page and that should draw the attention of the visitor, but it seems like the page is missing something.

What I mean is that, on the sidebars (left and right) it is very empty besides my Subscribe, and an E-book product. There is a lot of blank space to use up but I am not sure what I should use it for. I could add product lists, various info, or something else I guess.

Link To Example Product Page

So the question is :

Is the product page missing something and if so what should be added?

The page is too wide for my (wide) screen, necessitating scrolling from left-to-right to see it.

Sorry, I know this doesn't answer your question at all, but it's a problem.

Ok thank you. I will change that.

I would say the same - page too wide and you need to get the boxes sorted, better without borders...

    my opinion only...

It looks fine to me. Got everything that matters above the fold and it is neat and clean. I also would remove the borders and maybe reduce the white space by about 25%, bringing the "plans for boats" closer to the center.

you misspelled quality in your logo - it appears to say "qualty"

little things like that will turn people off (imho)

Nice site, of course I enjoy the heck out of boating and go a couple times a month.
I would agree the margins are a little bland. When I went to the fishing section I felt like I was on a "real" content packed site, so think of the differences between these two pages.

I am viewing it on a widescreen monitor so I didn't have to scroll. Sorry you got nailed for that, but scrolling is a lot of work and exercise. Yuck!

I agree the page is too wide. Also, I do not see an opt in form on the page. Other than that I wouldn't add much to the page. You don't want it to be too busy.

Besides the things I mentioned the page looks fine.

It looks to me like the Plans4Boats image got chopped off on the sides. If you can get the full image in there, I think it will be more appealing. May need to widen the margins as suggested above.

Is this an Amazon.com site or BoyerBoat site?
Apart from your Header Banner, the rest of the page is all about Amazon.
I would click away to Amazon and never come back to BoyerBoat. Why?
There is NOTHING in the way of content to entice me back.
Oh! I see now (on closer examination) - you do have boating and fishing ebook givaways. I would give the ebooks much more attention, and use them to build your list - you are building one aren't you?
But don't let this comment stop you from publishing. Get it out there first and then improve it. Nice to see you taking action.

    Brian...

It's clean but I doubt you'll do much business with it. Get outside your own head for a minute and just click onto the page. Take a look around. Then ask yourself this: What compelling reason do I have to buy something here?

If you're honest with youself you're going to come up short. This isn't a landing page at all. It's a catalog listing page. A landing page is not nearly as much about individual products as it is about the theme of your offers. In this case, boating.

What you need is some engaging content about boating. Make if family oriented. Then have some stuff about how sporty boating can be. Then maybe something about the competitive nature of the sport. Weave in subtle references to some of the products you offer. Throw in some cool boating and water sports images. Make it friendly. Make it engaging. That's how a successful landing page is set up. Good luck.

I was looking for a review about the page layout because yes I do know this is not a landing page to sell a service or product for marketing. It is an online store and I was just curious as to what people thought about the page that displays the product.

Unique content will be added later once I fix the layout of the website. That is why I created this thread, was to get opinions on the layout of that page, not what the website lacks as far as unique content.

Thank you for all of the feedback. I will fix the issues that you have all talked about. Should help the look of the site, once they are fixed.

And yes it is an Amazon.com affiliate store but these sites do still have some success. The site is not finished and more content will be added to give it a different feel. Still a work in progress.

Negative feedback does not stop me from publishing, it just motivates me to work harder.
