The only place I go is Namecheap.com

I have a ton of domain names there and haven't had any issues, and their support is great.

With coupons (which they always have), you can get a new registration for about $8.80. Their current coupon code for January is HAPPY2009.

    Hope that helps,
    Joel

Just use namecheap.com nothing else is as good, you can't find coupons for anything else as easy and you wont find free privacy protection anywhere like namecheap.

I'm another fan of Namecheap. Name.com is decent, too.

I can't bring up namecheap from China.
Any other good ones, I'll try them.

Can I register many domains with hostgator.

I can bring up lunarpages.com which is my hosting company
        they sell domains to.

I just didn't want to depend on one company, I can buy domains from lunarpages and use hostgator to host my new sites.

I'll see if I can get a refund from godaddy.com it has only been
around 2 weeks since I registered 6 domains with them.

I concur with most others in this thread that namecheap is number one. There have been countless horror stories about godaddy stealing and taking over domains worth thousands of dollars, it's just not worth it.

    Namecheap ftw!!

I use namecheap for all my domain. Before I used godaddy, but they take over one domain name and I don't trust them anymore.

I always use domainsarefree.com. If you host with them, you get the domain free, but to use your own host, which I do, it only costs $3.99 for a year for a dot com domain.

Well I contacted godaddy, I can only get a refund within 5 days of purchase,
plus I can only cancel by going to the site, they don't allow over the phone.

      Not a good business policy.

I'll register with lunarpages.com, can't bring up namecheap
and domainsarefree is 3.99 but then it is 14.95 to renew

      lunarpages is 9.95 per year

Great for domain names only! Manage your domaining empire, hosting independantly through different hosts like Hostgator etc. Never keep all your eggs in just one basket... Good promo on now for the 1st year! Not an affiliate link...

Namecheap by far. Interface is easy to use, coupon codes are easy to find and it's fast.

      Thanks EasyCash that is super.

I was able to download a .exe which some how passes China's block,
      and I can log-in to godaddy.com.

But I will take action now, so I don't rely on one company
      for domains..
