Forum SPAM Being Removed Too Fast, Fun Spoiled

SO... I was just looking at this totally awesome thread about how to get a totally free (honest) (not a scam) (no, really!) XBox 360 Elite system...

AND... I was about to post some great comment on it to torment our little spammer friend and provide needed entertainment for all Warriors...

WHEN... much to my dismay the thread was removed when I tried to post my reply. I didn't even get a chance to report the thread myself!

HOW... can we possibly have any fun with blatant spam posts being removed so quickly?

ALLEN... can't you just leave the spam a *little* longer!?

PLEASE????

THANKS!

Mike

Oh, and a big heartfelt *SORRY* to Kevin Riley for not including his name in the thread title.

I *promise* to remember next time.

Mike, that's the most original post I've seen in awhile
I know what you mean...it is fun to bait the spammers but what I think is, they don't even hang around to see the results. Ther're just off to another forum and keep spamming.

I didn't see that post but oh well. I made $480 from one of those sites last time. It works!

Mike, maybe You can post some spam so WE can have fun.

I'd love to take those little buggers out from about 300 yds with Tactical Operations T51! They have been peppering my board lately....drives me mental....I think its good they get zero exposure time.

As much fun as could be had...I agree that they just hit and run.

I am not talking about baiting the spammers, per say. I realize they are all hit and run. It is more the "making fun" of them and their post that is needed. You know, to keep stress levels down and all!

        NOW WHERE IS MY SPAM!!?!?!

Yea, we can have a lot of fun with the spammers. Sort of like like the townsfolk roughing them up a little before the sheriff arrives! Allen, please tell your deputies to have a few more donuts; and let us play our hand just a bit.

Most forum spam would have been posted automatically by software to many forums at once, so the poster would not have known you replied anyway :/

I always seem to miss out on these funny things, being on a different time zone.

    Hi Mike,

I know the post and I may be partly to blame as I actually requested other people report it, too.

But I see your point. I used to make posts like that at the old WF, and all too often found the post was zapped between the time I was writing and the ime I tried to post.

These responses to spammers can be some of the best ones. Gives a chance to exercise many different talents.

I prmoise to still report them, but not as quickly so we can see some fun responses.

Perhaps a thread of "Best Responses To Spam" in the Off-Topic Forum would be fun as well. Not in place of, but as an addition to.

That happened to me once, too... just when I had some great insights to add. I spent a good 1/2 hour creating that prose, only to see everything zapped when I went to post it. Now I just wait awhile to see if any suspicious threads sticks around before I bother to comment.

Yes, it would be fun to have them around awhile - maybe some of the better ones can be shuffled into a separate folder where we can go and play whenever the urge strikes. Call it the Warrior Playpen!

See, it just happened again. I promised to wait a wee bit before zapping the little buggers.

I replied to a spam post a few times telling them that their link didn't work. Trying to get them to waste THEIR time trying to figure out what was going on.

And I was just going to deliver the punchline of...

"Oh! I think I figured out why your link didn't work for me. It's because I don't click on spam links"

But I never got the chance. Hopefully they are still trying to figure it out.

I'm actually missing Michael Tracey's spam "edits"...like the signature line:

I'm an idiot. And a spammer

As well as his changes to the thread headlines. Was such great forum comedy; kind of like having Jay Leno right here among us.
