I CLOSED a $2,000 Per Month SEO client from Craigslist!

Hi Warriors,

I posted a thread a while back on a $10k+ web design deal I got off Craigslist.

We'll I just recently signed on a new SEO Client - I'm billing them $2,000 per month.

I posted a few ads in the "Resumes" section of Craigslist, offering my SEO Consultant service and I got several responses and ended up closing an SEO client, they were looking to hire an inhouse Internet marketing consultant and pay more than what I ended up charging them. It's a growing company with about $5Millon in yearly revenue.

This should be motivation for my fellow Warriors! You need to always test out new strategies and be creative, etc.

Thanks,
Ahmad

Huge congrats! Thats great for you. I just hope the $2000 a month doesn't involve you working your socks off and is like a non stop job for you. These big companies can be very demanding.

If you are smart you will outsource most of the work

Congrats!! That is awesome to hear! So many people think that the only good use for craigslist is to SPAM it to death or just to sell a used bike, but you have obviously proven otherwise!

That's a first in my experience. Although we do continue to use Craig's List for job postings to a great deal of success.

Thanks a lot man! Craigslist is definitely not my main source of leads...yes you do get a lot of junks request/tire kickers but thanks to Craigslist I landed a few nice deals

We'll companies that are hiring normally would look in the "Resume" section so I posted an ad targeting companies looking to hire an inhouse SEO consultant.

Congratulations. This post continues to solidify my beliefs that so much money is being "left on the table" (as they say) because people often struggle to think outside the box in terms of merging their online and offline talents. While this isn't specifically "offline," I imagine it did require some out of the box thinking to be able to close this contract.

So many individuals--especially newbies--get stuck thinking the only way to make money is to set up a website and just wait for the money to start rolling in.

Again...great job. And good luck with this gig!

Thank you! Yes in order to gain new clients and land bigger contracts you definitely need to think outside the box and be creative. It took a bit of effort in closing this client and I approached the client at a different angle (since they were looking to hire an inhouse consultant) but in the end it all worked out.
