After creating a new folder for wordpress using cpanel

How can make my domain name to be .com instead of .com/xxxxxxx.
I have tried to move the index.php file to my root directory but apparently it is not working.

    If you are creating a folder and installing Wordpess in that folder, you are creating the problem. Install Wordpress in the root directory of your domain.

    You'll have to move EVERYTHING in the sub-directory that it was installed in into the public_html folder (or root folder if it's not named that). I'm guessing there's also a configuration file within includes that you'll have to edit. Here's a guide I found doing a quick Google search: Moving WordPress « WordPress Codex
