effectively use your time to enhance the time you have at your disposal for marketing.

One of things I do is I often do my grocery shopping online at our local Asda (Walmart)

It costs me £5 for delivery, but that's minimal compared to the savings I make in the work I can get done. (Not to mention the trips I avoid down the chocolate and biscuit aisle)

For instance this pm, I've been able to write my newsletter and update a couple of sites, not to mention post on the warriors whilst having my groceries delivered to the door. (And I didn't have to go out into the freezing cold lol)

    I automate and outsource.
All my bills are on standing order
Like yourself I do my shopping online.
When I go out and am on the tube, I carry a micro laptop and work whilst on my way to visit friends.
I outsource most of my promoting of my websites.

In my opinion outsourcing is the way to go

There are a multitude of providers on this forum that will do what you wish at half the market price

I don't. I'm really lazy and spend much less time marketing than I could if I didn't like reading, drinking coffee, traveling and playing PS3 games with my nephew.

I used to spend ALL of my spare time doing IM and wishing I had more but now I spend much less and don't seem to crave extra time.

Strangly it's working out better financially. (which is nice)

Isn't that the greatest thing in the world? I wish I didn't live in the boonies. I have to go pick my groceries up. Saves me $5 though. It is $10 to get it delivered. $5 for pickup.

I hate shopping, and pretty much do as much of it as I can online.

To get the best use of my time, I never work when I don't feel like working. I only work when I am truly in the mood. I have found that when you try to force yourself to work when you really don't want to work... then you will not get much of anything accomplished.

However, when you work at a time when you are in the mood to work you accomplish a ton of work in a shorter amount of time.

Do more of the things that make the most money for the time invested and less of the things that bring in little money for the time invested.

      Also...outsource!

    Kim ...

I see it as all about balance.

Because I have a very active, young family - I had to consider a lot of "time saving" and organizational aspects to my life and business.

    (1) Automatic Bill Pay and Electronic Banking

I use direct deposit for affiliate programs as much as possible ... anything to avoid having to take the trips to the bank. I have several income streams that come in ... MOST of them paid to me electronically ... I only get one check from one vendor per month now

    (2) Mobility

We DO need to get out of the house now and then - but - SOMETIMES we need to take care of something on the road. My laptop is with me on long trips (with wifi and cellular card) and for short hauls ... my Blackberry (soon to be iphone) is with me too to take care of emergencies.

    (3) Outsourcing

I'm a big fan of elance or other services to help me take care of rudimentary technical stuff

    (4) Homeshool the kids.

My kids have done very well IN school ... but due to our hectic lifestyle and our incessant travel schedule - the kids were getting "flack" for their EXCUSED absences. So - we decided to home school them - purely for logistical reasons. It took some work and a FANTASTIC wife that handles most of it - but - the kids are actually doing BETTER than when in school!

How does this help us? It allows us to fit schooling in to our family schedule.

This may not be for everyone but it works for us.

    (5) Online Shopping

DITTO ON THAT ONE! We do what we can ... BUT ... I would KILL for an Asda or a Tesco like you have here in the states. We still DO have to head to the store now and then (sigh)

    (6) PAY for services.

Oil changes - lawn service - pool service etc. YES I could do it, but if you add the hours it takes away from my business. Doing them costs me MORE than paying someone else to do it!

I'm sure there are other little things that I have failed to think about ... because they are so embedded in my life. I'm REALLY interested in hearing what other folks have to say too!
