How to speed up camtasia rendering process?

Dear warriors,

I believe some of you use camtasia to edit or create your video. Maybe you can help me with this...

Do you have any suggestion on how I can speed up camtasia rendering process? All I do is put watermark on my video, but it takes generally 20 minutes / one hour video to render it.

How I can speed it up? What is your suggestion to editing bulk videos?

Thanks for your answer.

It comes down to several things:

The size and quality of the original source material.

What size / quality you select for the finished video.

The power of the computer you're using.

So obviously you can choose to render the output in a more compressed way or at a smaller size or reduced quality.

If you don't want to do that then you need a faster computer.

My machine usually takes around 5 minutes to render a 30 minute video of hd quality.

Um... I think I won't upgrade my computer in the near future. Too much hassle I think....

I just saw a youtube video about speed up rendering process by change the priority of your camtasia from normal to high in task manager. I've try it but it doesn't really improve my rendering speed.

    Do you have more suggestion?

Move your cursor to my link and it will magically turned red when you do it. Try (and click) it!

Upgrading your computer is too much hassle? I guess you're not that bothered about the slow rendering then.

I have a machine that I do all my video on that is faster and more powerful than my others so if I get issues I just do it on that machine.

The task manager thing will only make a difference if you have other stuff running at it's being slow due to resources.

    hm... you're right.

I can use my brother's pc for all video editing process. I can install camtasia to another computer if I uninstall it first, right? Or do I have to buy more license?

    Andy,

Thank you very much for your suggestion and your answer.

Just install new camtasia on new computer and now I can create new video while rendering at the same time.

Lol... How stupid of me for not thought about this simple idea earlier, yet spend 3 hours browsing youtube and warrior forum for techie and complex answer.

I have a Core i5 laptop with 6GB of RAM, it takes 3 minutes to render a 10-15minutes HD video. You need to have a powerful computer to speed up the process, if you are going to be doing lots of videos then I suggest you buy a laptop/desktop with a quad core processor, the rendering process is very intensive it sets off my laptop fan.

When it comes to any kind of video rendering you will need a computer with decent specs. Preferably a decent CPU and 4 - 6 GB of RAM. The quickest and easiest way to upgrade any computer is to upgrade your memory. If you have 2GB right now, add another 2 if you can.

Also, make sure your watermark file size is as small as possible.

    Reduce your frame rate.

I had the same problem as you, and Camtasia was creating 100+mg videos, taking ages to render.

Reducing the frames per second down to as little as 5 (if you're only doing screen capture stuff) makes things a lot faster.

It can be annoying waiting for the rendering. I do something else while this is processing. If you have nothing else to do make yourself a cup of tea or do some stretches!
