Best way to convert document into ebook?

Hi everyone! I think I have heard before that if you write an ebook in Word and then try to convert, there are technical issues. Is that right? If I want to write an ebook, what is the best format/software to use? Any advice is appreciated!

If you are writing it in word it all depends what word or office
you are using...

2003 has a pdf plugin that lets you save files into pdf format
that is the best option and is the one i use for all my works...

Just search microsoft for how to save word into pdf...

Hi,

Yes... Open Office is good, but kinda big (file-size-wise)

An alternative would be PDF995 (much smaller)

I prefer OpenOffice myself - convert text files, spreadsheets, and powerpoint-type files to pdfs with a single mouse click.

Here's another handy pdf tool - WarriorPDF. Use it to create a pdf from a web page (or any other page). Once installed, you "print" to the WarriorPDF driver to create the pdf file.

Search for WarriorPDF and you'll find it quickly.

Open Office is good, and free.

But personally, I love Acrobat Standard. It never had problem to convert to PDF file. One thing I really like it is: It can grap web pages and make it pdf files. It is really helpful for keeping records. However, it is not free. You may buy an old version from ebay with low price.

Yeah, Acrobat is the best choice, but it is a bit pricey. Depends on how sophisticated you want to get with your .pdfs.

I use adobe professional. There some other services online that charge monthly. You can do a search on Google if you want to.
