Hostgator Baby Plan to Reseller?

I'm currently on the baby plan for hostgator but was wondering what is better about having a reseller account other than baby plan other than being able to sell websites.

Are the IP addresses different for every website? What about the speed difference between the two different types of accounts.

Lastly has anyone had any experience with transferring addon domains to their own cpanel for the reseller account? Is it easy?

    the difference is you can have separate cpanel account/access to each website at reseller package. they usually distribute multiple websites on 3 to 5 ips in reseller plan. you will get whmcs for billing /ecommerce etc.
    Resellers plan is for individual to sell further , such as designers, coders to hos their clients or individuals who are looking to start a hosting company.

    if you talk about performance shared and reseller are almost same.

    Transferring websites from cpanel to cpanel is very easy job, you can ask HG to transfer your website free. Also other hosts usually offer free transfer to their servers cpanel-cpanel.

      Good points above.. to add to that, you can only get one SSL installed per baby plan, whereas you can get an SSL installed for each separate cpanel on a reseller plan. This is a major issue if you are running ecommerce stores or have any type of need for SSL certificates. You still have to get charged the extra $2/month for each dedicated ip address required for an SSL, but at least it's POSSIBLE to have more than 1 SSL with the reseller plan.
