Does anyone know how to create a successful facebook like campaign

I see some Facebook like campaign gaining 1000 or more like per day.
I just dont see how it can be done in a affordable way.
It looks like I would be paying .30 or more per click.
Even if I got 100 percent of the clicks to like my page it would still cost a fortune to build a big enough fan base to market too.

For instance a cake page got over 40,000 likes in two months running a campaign.
That would cost over 10 grand.

Am I missing something or do they know how to monetize so its worth it?

Is there some kind of tip trick or technique? I have read case studies of campaign gaining liks for pennies. How is that even possible when the lowest price per click is higher than that?

Bid on a CPM level and target less than 15k for each campaign/interest. Keep your interests separate as the more you target at once the more impressions you'll eat up. Think laser-targeted here.

Then when I create my advertisement to my fanpage I simply put "Click LIKE if you LOVE [whatever here]."

If I target my geographically I spice it up a bit, and I might say "Click LIKE if your a California Girl and LOVE [whatever here]."

This last week I have been clicks/likes for about $.03 cents for one of my most profitable niches... and its a far cry from the $1.80+ per click/like Facebook estimates I'll pay if I went with CPC instead of CPM.

So how does it work? Your targeting such a low amount of people with something that you already know they are interested in. That translates into a high amount of clicks/likes for every $xx spent on a thousand impressions. This drives down your effective cost-per-click into the penny range.

It works and it works well. Once you get a campaign up and running, you move onto the next one, and then the next one. Just don't get so caught up in it you forget to update your fanpages with new content/links lol.

      One quick question
what do you mean target less than 15k for each campaign interest?

It means when you targeting by interest, geographic location, age, sex, etc you need to keep it under 15k estimated reach. This means the number of people Facebook is estimating meet the criteria of your target.

A lot of people spin up a CPM campaign and target 100k+ and they end up blowing their budget within six minutes after approval. Don't do that. To get the lowest CPC utilizing a CPM bidding method you need to target far less than that.

It's important to remember that when you say 1000 impressions, that doesn't mean 1000 INDIVIDUAL people will see the add. It could be 100 people seeing it ten times.

So bring down the amount of people you are reaching, laser target your campaigns and you'll see affordable clicks--and more importantly LIKES to your fanpage where you KNOW the person is interested.

Nice explaination! CPM is much better with targeting than CPC. Also you can create custom design for effectiveness.

    Ok good news
    first like came in at.20
This is the lowest cost per click I have ever received on facebook to date.
The bad is it is still to high
The good is that I have only tested one version of the ad so far.
Im sure I can triple up my click through, maybe even better than that.

    Update
With a new ad I am getting likes for .12 a piece.
This is starting to get really good.
I figure with a few more ad tweaks I will be around .05 a like.

Isn't there a way to get likes in an organic way?

I have a facebook account but never use it, and I am not very knowledgeable about facebook in general and fanpages in particular, but I always thought that I could get a few (and maybe a lot) of likes if I created a fanpage about something funny like "we hate Bieber the most" Fanpage or something silly like that.?

If getting it the organic way is not that simple, buying likes from a fiverr service or something would not help to eventually get "organic" likes?

-- Maybe I am speaking about groups, and you cant have fanpages like "I too was abducted by martian cows!! --- ??
