Give them something of value in exchange for them signing up. Sounds like you are in a small niche so you could write a report about dating issues / places to go on a date / etc. specific to your niche.

A "Fast Seduction" report may work well. Make them opt-in for it and then push your dating site membership to them in a daily dating tips email.

I have some experience with this. I managed to build up a member base of 300,000 on a dating site I owned and later sold. The fact is, no-one wants to join a dating site with zero members so don't allow them to search without first registering. Entice them with something like "See Who's Online Right Now" - I found that one simple change made a huge difference - people were curious to see who was online right now that they could meet.

That is wonderful, but how did you manage to sign up the first 100?
In the future I want to charge for the subscription.
