Is it my host or my wordpress - www. problem

Hi all

I have serval sites with my host, (bytehost), and one of them will not work with the www. infront.

2 of my other domains had the same issue but when I raised a ticket and support checked, they miraculously sorted themselves out and they said there wasnt a problem and asked me to flush my browser cache.

One of them, (the one in my sig), doesnt work for me on 2 pc's or smartphone. I have flushed the cache and used firefox, IE and Chrome.
Bytehost say it works for them, but I can only see the blog from www.bestwaystomarket.com - the site to help you find the best ways and methods to successfully market online

How can it work for them and not me?

I just get a blank page from here for the www, but without the "www" it works fine.

You should never attempt to make them "work" with both URLs: with and without www!

Those two wariants are regarded by the search engines as TWO [2] different addresses ==> two different sites. And you don't want your backlinks to be divided between two sites!

Since www is an obsolete remnant of the early days of the internet, pick the one WITHOUT www and stick to it! Apply redirects, so the www version goes automatically to the non-www version.

If for some reason you want the www thing, you can use that one, too...

The most important thing is to be consequent and always use only one when building backlinks!

.htaccess redirects and using canonical meta tag and G. webmaster tool settings are good ways to fix the problem.

    Thanks Istan.

Its just confusing when the other sites are fine and this one doesnt. The redirects within Cpanel are the same for all and the DNS settings are also the same.

I shall check out the conical meta tags.

Actually, the problem is with the "other" sites: no site should work with BOTH URLs

Istvan is right on this. My guess is the "miraculous" resolution you got from tech support was their setting up the automatic redirect for you, then telling you to flush your cache.

If it makes you feel better, this is not uncommon. Many sites belonging to big companies suffer the same problem.
