Keywords in domain names do carry some weight although with the new algorithmic changes that Google has put in place just recently it is not as powerful, as it once was but if it makes sense to have your keywords in the domain still worth doing

With that in mind I find that there has been no changes with Bing and Yahoo many of my sites with the keywords domains, still rank well without many back links in those 2 search engines.

When it works out, getting your main keyword into your domain is always a good idea. You should try and make sure the domain makes some sense and is not too long.

They're right. Also make sure that it's easy to remember. If it is it will catch people's eye when it does pop up and they're more likely to click on it.

If you can find domain name the same as your keyword it will be great! However, you should focus on finding a brandable domain name! look at Google or Yahoo.. they are not keyword rich domains but they're brandable! If you're trying to rank for your keyword just have quality site with great content and backlinks.

I wouldn't bank on that helping you any more than a LITTLE bit. The best thing to do is to use one good keywords as opposed to trying to fit three or four mediocre ones in your website title.

i.e. www. petpedia .com would be a good one, but www.catdogmouseratrabbitpedia.com Would not.

Matt Cutts at Google keeps on saying that KW in domain is not that big of an issue that everyone makes it out to be, but yet he goes on to say that it would not hurt either... So yes I would say yes if you can get it, why not.

I also feel that your choice of domain name should first be considered by what type of site you are building and your overall business plan. Is it an authority site, a sniper site, a micro niche site.

If your business plan is to market only a product that solves dog grooming problems and you never want to expand into other dog related issues then yes pick a domain around dog grooming, otherwise you probably would consider a domain that will not hold you to just dog grooming. You would go move up so to speak within your niche more along the lines of "caring for your dog" type of domain name, above that could be "caring for your pet".

I think it makes a difference in Yahoo and Bing, but not much for Google.

yes, to contain main keywords in a domain name is very important for SEO, and according to your information. low competition, 12000 search count, it is very suitable to make it as your domain name.
it is just my opinion. i'm a newbie, if there is something wrong in my saying. please tell me. thank U advance.
